Made a ship, now what?
I can't seem to figure out how to do anything. How do I move, for starters?

I know what you mean. Under the controls tab in the options menu it is blank for me.

Well the question is moot. Managed to get into combat with something, and I was toast before I could really figure anything out. I understand this is an early alpha (which I didn't realize when I paid for it), but this is ridiculous.

Click on the ship or press [Z] to select target. Then [C] to confirm the selected target. Once it's done you fire the chosen weapon group (Normally all weapons are assigned to 1) You can press [G] to open the group menu.

You can press [X] to go in manual firing mode.

At the moment, the functions of the game are to create your ship and test it against others. The Devs are currently working on the missions framework meaning real advances (That can be seen more) are coming soon.

To move you need to make sure you have the engine subsystem in the engine module (Modules are what you place. The parts, while subsystem is what goes into them)

I suggesting following these guides as well.

If you need more information just ask.

Yeah I managed to figure out the subsystem thing on my own and I could move at a lightning fast pace of .3 km/s (LOL), but firguring out how was difficult.

Normal ship are able to go up to 2km/s or so. You can press [T] to deactivate the Kinetic Field allowing for newtonian physics and going faster. You can use the MWD by pressing the MWD button on the bottom part of your ship which allow for even faster movement. You can press [M] to open up the map and click on a sector (which are the solar system) to use the Jump Drive and go there. Currently the jump drive has no animation and is instantaneous with no cooldown.

Tap "R" to turn on the reactor, then tap "T" to toggle the kinetic field. Then press "F" and vroom. MWD is good too.. However, once I figured all of that out, as well as shooting and targeting, I found that all I can do is get my ♥♥♥ handed to me or dock at space stations, and docking just sends me back to the shipyard. :D

I somehow manage to go in reverse and can't figure out how to go forward lol.

[R] doesn't turn on the reactor but the engines to go foward, while [F] goes in reverse.
