After all I've read here...
I am going to purchase this game and show faith in a smaller developer to support them. I read so much trash from users, who spew out without a thought, and responses from a developer who seems genuinely invested in giving out a great game. So many big companies do not care about user feedback or how bad they screw over everyone. If my 10$ can help move this game along, I will gladly pay it and enjoy messing around with the ship builder, and giving helpful feedback to the devs, and look forward to the day when it is complete. I will not buy it and then come back and spew my nonsense and anger at what is probably more ignorance then anything. I hope more people will do the same as well. Don't be put off by silly comments from people who might not be fully understanding of what they are buying. Do a little research on youtube and the forum, and make your own decision like I am doing. I look forward to many hours spent on this game in the future. Been looking for a good space game for awhile. Sorry so long, but was a little angry over some of the grief being handed out here, that I felt was very unfair and had little fact or basis. Keep up the good fight devs!

I totally agree and have bought the game and love what I am seeing. The people handing out the unfounded grief and talking about how the devs just lost a sale just give people like me an extra nudge towards buying it.

To the devs and moderators: Don't take to heart the trash that is spewed or worry that they are going to hurt sales because there are a LOT of us out there that appreciate the good work people like you do and will buy your product. Probably more of us than the few causing the trouble. I personally bought the game knowing that my video card in my laptop might not work on this game but just wanted to support you. Like Joshuap1221 said, sorry this is so long, what I've been seeing has been making me a bit angry too. Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to the finished product.

It's posts like these that make my shed a tear of happiness and that I'm glad of being part of the community.

I personally thank you for this and I am sure the Devs will be happy as well to read this. It's people like you that make us want to continue

Well said badson... I dived in for what I said to myself was going to be a minute to mess around with a ship and ended up not making it to bed until about 3 hours latter lol. Once this game is done it is going to be absolutely great. Never been able to build a ship from scratch and its just so much fun. I put so many cannons on a cruiser that the fps dropped to nothing anytime I fired lol... maybe a tad overkill for now. Look forward to many long hours lost on this game once finished.

You felt that the grief here had little fact or basis? Most of the "grief" here is about devs and mods closing and deleting threads, with the reason "we will make one big thread about it".

Maybe their intentions were good and they just wished to keep things in order. I give them the benefit of doubt on this. Still if I open a thread where I ask a group of players some questions about the game they are playing, and than this thread is locked and/or deleted before I have a chance to read the answeres... than I dont consider this "griefing" on my part, but the devs/mods "griefing" me

In fact... most negative comments about the game were complaints that the game has litle content and litle to do yet... which every gamer can accept as the game is in it´s ALPHA.
See? No problem... just facts and facts important for players looking on info to make a spending decision.

But the behavior of mods and devs in this thread really spoiled this game for several people. Especially when they started to tell out-right lies like "only three threads got deleted" ... hell I alone was following 5 threads that disappeared (steam still shows those in the upper right corner, you know?) . And by the time already several people complained about lost threads.

I was always very sympathic towards kinetic void. Sorrily missed the kickstarter and than wanted to buy the game during sale. When I entered this hub there were threads deleted within minutes of opening them... some while I was still reading them. And than the mods used the ban-hammer. I and some people I contacted after their threads dissapeared got banned for "spamming off-topic". A surprise that I can write this now... I take that as a sign that maybe someone came to sense. But I remain sceptic about the devs and thus about the game.

Maybe I will buy kinetic void during a next sale if this post still exists by the time. But from my experience yeasterday neither this post, nor this thread will survive long after I hit the "comment" button ... we´ll see

I understand your feelings completely. But when people are disregarding the terms, its got to be handled. And, I could be wrong, but I think the mod probably did only delete 3 threads, and then Steam came in a deleted a few from things getting out of hand. All I was trying to point out is that coming and throwing out the " you've lost all these sales because of censorship" and opening 3 threads with the same and calling the devs at fault, was not helpful at all. There are ways of complaining and getting your points across without being so aggressive. Like you just did. All you said was legitimate, and well stated, not heat of the moment anger, which helps no one. I just wanted my point of view stated. Sometimes things can get a little out of control, and hurt a good thing, when it wasn't needed.

Hi Joshua, I understand what you mean and I agree to most of the things you wrote. I just want to point out, that there wouldnt have been any "heat of the moment"-threads if the mods did not pull a Judge Dredd in the first place. I mean come one... let there be 10 threads titled "this game is crap"... you find them all over the forums, and most of the time these threads die after one or two posts because people posting like that are neither fun to communicate with nor have they strong arguments for their case. So instead of angering/feeding the trolls the mods should just let the community deal with them by ignoring them. By dealing with them the way it was done the trolls suddenly had a valid point to use "The mods/devs delete my threads and try to silence negative feedback"... and that point angers many people.

A ♥♥♥♥♥torm is mostly the reaction of poor PR handling. WarZ is a perfect example of this ;-)

Still I am unbaned, this thread unlocked ... sounds like the mods really are fast learners... which is a good thing :D Makes me look more positiv on the future of Kinetic Void. Because the project as such IS awesome. And this young sapling should not be trampled by ban-hammers ;-)

I don't believe that the Kinetic Void mods banned anyone, but I know that a Steam mod banned at least one person.
Whatever the case, these issues are in the past and Kinetic Void is still a great game :D

Star Citizen and this game are going to be very, very different.

It's your choice whether you want to support indie teams trying to advance the genre or massive studios that no longer care about you or the games they make as long as they get paid.

Star citizen obviously doesn't fall in that second category, but they don't need your money either and are backed by a large development studio. At least with this game your making a small contribution to keeping PC gaming (and space sims) alive. All your doing with Star CItizen is lining the pockets of someone with more than enough money already.

The mods only locked threads. Any deleted threads were made by the Devs or the Steam Admin. We do have a few bans but all for good reason (One said he actually got the game on a website by hacking it or whatever)

Now like some people said, and I will repeat myself. Leave that matter to the past. It was mostly the heat of the moment and because of not knowing all the facts.

Unlike the OP, I will never buy this game. I just made the decision to "never" buy it today, before this it was "maybe some day after release". The reason for this has nothing to do with the game itself, which may sound silly, but it is rather due to the fact that I in no way want to support this game after seeing the attitude of the developer and the moderators who represent him on these forums.

I first became aware of this game (more than having just heard the name) during the recent daily deal and have been following the forums ever since. I was interested in buying during the sale but was persuaded not to by the comments in these forums. I have come back every day since, and nothing seems any different than my first impressions.

But I'll miss out on a great game someday? Maybe. But it isn't the only great game. I have a lot of them, probably more than I can ever tire of playing. I'll be just fine without this game, and I am sure they will be just fine without my money. Of course, they may not want to make too many people feel the way I do, else it may actually affect them in the end.

To the owners of this game, good luck to you all, I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
