Kinetic Void > General Discussions > Topic Details

Q: Will there be multiplayer?
A: Yes, there will be multiplayer. At this time, as our team is small, we are focusing on core components. We plan on addressing multiplayer in the first full expansion of Kinetic Void

Q: What operating system does KV run on?
A: Kinetic Void will run on all versions of Windows (not 8.1 as it is not formally released yet), Mac and Linux

Q: When will the game be out?
A: At this time, the game is in development but is available to be played via our Early Access through Steam. What is Early Access?

Q: Is there Newtonian flight?
A: There is Newtonian flight, however it is only active when the ship's Kinetic Field is disabled (Disable Kinetic Field by pressing T). This has advantages, as well as disadvantages.

Q: Will there be mining in Kinetic Void?
A: Yes, mining will be an option for non-combat game play. It will be performed by simplistic mining drones and at this time, we are planning to have them be either autonomous and a bit slower, or able to be manipulated by the player and return more quickly. These details are subject to change depending on how the development of the mining system progresses.

Q: Is there planetary landings / Entering atmosphere?
A: No, the ships are not designed for atmospheric entry, instead all ships will interact with a station which is orbiting the planet. In order to make landing on planets possible (addressing additional issues of gravitational pull, terrain of planets etc.), it would require significantly more time and a much larger team.

Q: Can I take over planets or stations
A: At this time it is not possible to overtake a planet or station.

Q: Can I control multiple ships, and/or a fleet?
A: Each player controls one ship. It is not possible to simultaneously control multiple ships. Kinetic Void is about your choices in the galaxy, and yours alone.

Q: Is there full 3d flight? or is it on a 2d plane?
A: Kinetic Void is played in full 3d space

Q: Can I make a suggestion?
A: Absolutely! Feel free to make any suggestion you like, I can't guarantee we will use it, but I will read it for sure!

Q:Will Pre-Orders get a Steam key for Kinetic Void?
A: Yes I have confirmation that I will be able to provide keys for everyone that pre-orders though the official site.

Q:How much will Kinetic Void Cost?
A: Pre-order price is $19.99 which is 33% off of the release price of $29.99

I will update this thread as more questions seem suitable.

Yes, the faction system tracks the standing of the factions towards the player.

1] Will parts (like just more hull/Blocks for your ship) for your ship cost any kind of money? (I know thats a silly question but i was just wandering)

2] About how big do you plan on letting the player make his/her ship.

3] Also how long would it take to make a huge ♥♥♥ ship. Is it going to be like x3 long or some thing you can do in a matter of hours.
LumberingTroll  [developer] Mar 12, 2013 @ 4:16pm
1) When purchasing modules from a merchant they will have a credit cost, there will eventually also be an option to salvage parts from other ships.

2) Right now there is no limit as to how large your ship can be, the systems are designed to be self governing so if you can aquire all the parts to make it work, go for it. Of course there is one limitation that we cannot do anything about, and that is your computer.

3) The plan is that it will take a long time to aquire everything. If you were to play in a sort of cheat mode / builder mode you can do it as fast as you can put the parts together.

Oh sorry man i just found out this is not the question place! Sorry about that! What i hate most in games is that sometimes i feel like the game is holding me back with pop limits or a number of ship part limits but love that there is no limit with this game! That makes me look really forward to the game!
