First press N to turn on the sensors (you need that subsystem and power for it) then click on the target (should have a blue circle around it) then press c (the circle should go red) then press 1 and get the turrets facing in the right direction (fixed guns don"t work).

To Select your target
[z] to cycle through non-hostiles
-or- [Shift]+[Tab] to cycle through hostiles
-or- [LMB] to select a specific target in your HUD

Then with [C] you can lock it. Once locked, you press the designed key for the target. (If you have no more than one target, no need for this. If you do. target one is [F1], target 2 is [F2], (and on and on) and then you use your group weapon key to fire the designed group weapon (Normally each weapon are assigned to group 1 so pressing the key 1 will fire them(To change your group weapons, press [G])

Do fixed guns work? I havent figured it out. None of the keybinds in either control modes work. Turrets are just fine, but fixed guns don't even show up in my gun group menu.

Only turrets work for the moment. All other weapons don't work yet.

Sorry, this system is a little complicated right now, the problem is to get the flexibility I want target selection has to be individual, and the ability to queue up target priority needs to be possible. this means an array of targets, and an array of fire commands. Just kind of rambling here but yeah, this is alls tuff we are thinking of / working on.

There was a function that effectively did that, but it confused the hell out of most people so was removed. (I hope it will return)

I agree with BlockBadger, being able to queue up target priorities/fire orders would be an amazing asset for any space game..

to explain myself, contemplating buying the game, looking through a lot of conversations and gonna look up some videos and such, might be buying it tonight :D
