Shooting...Am i doing it wrong?
So i have built mutiple ships, tho im having a hard time putting them to scale against, say a person.

Got everything going reactors, engines.....but do i need to put something in the guns to make em shoot?
Im targeting, micro warping ("Idea" Should show a line - - - - of distance travelled on sector map)

But yeah, how to shoot? can you manually shoot off into the stars?
And are engines effects not currently intergrated or is it me just not being able to see them?

Once you have dropped to kinetic speed with T and target locked with C then hit F1 to select that locked target and 1 to fire weapon group one at it. NB only Cannons work at the moment.

Turrets are the only ones that work, not fixed weapons.
And yes the combat process is a little unintuitive this will change as the UI gets updated.

It doesn't seem like you can free-fire yet (that would be awesome just for testing weapons/weapon placement / weapon groupings)

There appears to be some form of minimum distance as well with weapons (you have to be so close to fire). Not sure whether there exists something to tell what that distance is?

At the moment only TURRETS and a few other weapons work. Here is how to make them shoot. Click on an enemy to “target” it. Press C to lock him. (Your target should now appear in the top right corner) You can lock multiple target, the maximum number being determined by your subsystems. Once all your targets are locked, Press the right button to choose them (Under each target there will be a Key. Target one has F1 under it, while target two has F2 under it) So press F1 to choose target one and then use the weapon group you want to use. (Key 1-2-3….0) To manage your weapons groups, while in space press G.

I did notice that once you destroy a ship, the icon is still there. I'm guessing this will be taken care of once the looting/salvage/inventory system is implimented.

Dude i just found out that if you press 'x' you can aim freely
