In Search of Knowledge
In search of knowledge

I am a budding C++ programmer that searching for whatever knowledge possible to obtain on how I am to learn how to make 3D gaming environments like this one. I currently only know how to make c prompt games and have a in-depth understanding of the code I do not know how to learn any more than I do now, without wasting my money on college that won’t teach me what I want to know.
Is there any way that one of the developers can point me in the right direction or maybe tell me how they did it? Did they use a certain book series or attend certain classes?

If someone could please help me, I would be extremely grateful.
You can contact me a:

Thank you, David Heary.

The game was made using unity, which mostly use Javascript and/or C# and/or Boo as you can see here[docs.unity3d.com]

Here are some good way to learn about it.

I'm not part of the Dev team but that pretty much sums it up.

Otherwise you'll have to look on the Unity tutorials pages and forums.

I know that

Lumbertingtroll (Sean) did 10 years or so of IT and Network Administration work.

Harabeck (Matthew) studied a degree in computer scienc.

Demthios (Kris) did a degree in Computer Programming and 3D Animation.

Shmaba (Shaun) got a diploma in Game Art and Design.

The rest of the staff I either don't know or it's not related to programming.

Matt and Sean pretty much built the universe as far as the procedural systems go. They did focus on Unity for the programming.

And I know way more... even about you players.... MUAHAHAHAHAHA.

I forgot to say that you can get the unity3 for free, and still do pretty amazing work with it. Just click here[unity3d.com] and that they have a nice learning page here[unity3d.com]. Hope it helps.

Yes, we used Unity3D, and programmed in C#, C++ is a good language to know though, as things like UE4 have dropped unreal script for straight C++. Matt is the true wizard behind the code of as it was he and I for the longest time. Now we do have two more programmers though
