Players will be able to gather resources and raw materials from asteroids. These materials can then be used to gain currency in-game, which will be used in the game's economy. Some examples of using this currency would include purchasing trade goods, modules and subsystems for ships, etc.
Mining will be performed by deploying a drone to an asteroid, which will in turn launch a mini game during which the player will control a laser that will cut into the surface of the asteroid (which may result in finding a resource.). If a resource is discovered, it may be gathered with a tractor beam, and then placed into the drone's inventory. The resource will be returned to the ship when the drone returns to recharge. While a drone is charging, it is inactive and may not be used until its charge is complete.
Drones may be deployed to begin mining, and are broken down into multiple categories, including Basic, Energized, Digger and Gatherer. Each category has different strengths as well as weaknesses, so choose your drones wisely.
