I think I have a problem but im not sure...
So to start with steam says the game takes 2 gigs....but i downloaded about 900 mb...

Next, I've run around in space for about an hour now maybe.. and ive found empty stations, no enemies, no asteroids. I know its early but the videos i saw showed the ability to fight enemies...just wondering if i need to continue searching...or start a new "world/universe".

There are a few things that can cause this. firstly, did you go to library, right click Kinetic void go to properties and in the local files tab click Verify integrity of game cache? this will make steam check to see if Kinetic Void has all of its files downloaded and working.

the other thing is, when you were making a ship you have to add a Sensor system in a C&C in order to see other enemys and astroids. you can do this by selecting a C&C, any size doesn't matter, place it, right click it then go to systems, scroll down and you will see Sensors, pick the one you feel is the best and set off.

as for the empty space stations, The game is in Early Access, so give it more time and I'm sure those space stations will be more lively in the future.

My current steam install of hte game is registering 2.09 GB. You may want to do an integrity check.

Other ships and enemies are around, if you are in newtonian travel mode (toggling off your Kinetic FIeld) then you may not notice them as you are moving too fast. We still have a lot of work to do on gameplay, environment and faction simulation so look for these kinds of things in the near future. There are also some random missions that will crop up, asking for assuistrance, patrol jobs etc.

Thanks for purchasing KV, it means a lot to us.

I did the integrity check. It said it was fine. I also had a cockpit installed (the C&C thing) and yet nothing showed up. Im going to just reinstall it

also when i said empty i meant void of items too if space stations are supposed to give you the ability to "buy" more ship add ons.

So i just redownloaded it...it says its downloading 900 mb...not 2 gigs...theres gotta be something on steams end.

also i dont know if other starports are supposed to have items but they don't. Like if i dock at one; its empty. No items or anything even if i didn't use items when i first made my ship. I also only have like..9 diff components to make a ship out of (thats 1 form c&C no weaps, 4 for the "hull", and 1 for the engine/booster)

Zetskey:
If you're in career mode of the galaxy instead of creative you'll only get roughly one of each module type. Create a new galaxy, make it "Creative" by clicking the Creative button under the Sectors and Factions option and click Start. This will open all the module parts for you.

*smacks op in the face*

You see, when you download a steam game, it is compressed.

This means you only have to download about 50% of the games size, but still get the whole thing.

In this case, you are downloading 2 gigs of compressed data, which equates to 900MB.

I've NEVER done that before...ive never had steam download a compressed file. When it tells me 4 gigs it downloads 4 gigs
