Quick question about modding
I work as a 3D modeller and I really like the look of the modular setup you guys have going on for the ships, I was just wondering if it is at all possible to bring in our own models to add to the modules 'database' and possibly even share our creations with other fans someday. Or maybe there is already some basic modelling tools in the game?

Good luck with the rest of the development, this is looking really interesting!

Perjoss:
Thanks so much for your question! We have an absolutely amazing modder on our team. His bread and butter is reverse engineering games to be able to mod them to his own specifications. I do believe that in the future he is planning on opening the game up to some pretty fantastic mod options. However at this time we're more focusing on making sure the core mechanics are all in place (nothing sucks worse than when your mod breaks because an update comes out, right?). I was joking with him about people being able to change the skins and such like in Skyrim and he had said "I don't see why not", which is why I am thinking he has something planned along those lines :)

Thanks again for your question, happy gaming!

So is there a definite goal to allow users to import their own modules, or just a general aim to support _some_ kind of modding?

Sean already said in the past that there will be a module creator (so they will make their own program to create modules without the actual need if modding the game) and that it might be possible to download them (later on) via the workshop. But that would be in a long time.
