Unable to attack?
So I haven't played in awhile and decided to see how they've progressed. Alot of it seems to work better now but for some reason aside from basic flying NOTHING else seems to work for me. I can't target, can't shoot, can't do anything. Using the default Striker ship they give you.

Tried that it didnt work so deleted the whole file, started a new one and did that and it seems I do have the ability to shoot now. Tho can't confirm if everything is working yet. Thanks for the link.

Dragon,
Also you can verify the local cache of the game to find any missing or corrupt files, that may do the trick. Right click the game in your steam library, go to properties, then local, then verify local cache.
Thank you, I will do that as well to double check. Seems alot has been smoothed out tho the inventory system seems a bit querky. Keep up the good work.
Are you playing Creative or non creative? Easy way to tell if you have all the items with 999 in the Shipyard.
The time i got it to work seems to be creative. forgot to test it again in non creative which was when i was originally having issues.
Ah, yeah in non creative you need to BUY the ammo, as well the parts and stuff for ships. :) I was like that too when I first played non creative.
Hmmm.... that might explain everything. I can't get the inventory thing to work 99% of the time so I didnt even know there was ammo. I had to fight with it just to show me what the drones mined.

Is there, instead of some either overly verbose (as I am) or entirely lacking full explanation, steam guide, a downloadable manual? Or can the guide in the game for the complete game be made available while still in the shipyard? And something where the text isn't blacked out and unreadable?

I have 12 guns on a ship and only 1 works at a time though the arcs cross. This seems pretty complicated to get going. As it is using different keys than most games do, including some recent half million Steam sales space games, there's some getting used to that I may not want to do (as I play those other games, Steam and otherwise). Sure I could make a re-assignment but I think then I'll have to re-assign the key I am taking over as well right? Also, with that link at the beginning of this thread there appears to be a glitch that fixes when you reset them to defaults (would prefer to avoid the opportunity for that to happen to me with my luck). It would be nice to be able to kill something instead of seem to be able to out survive them but not kill em, a stalemate it seems.

"Early access," yes I know, that's why I figured better to say something.

If there is a way to make a drag system for key assignments (we drag the item we placed to the key we want to use after configuring the gun, for instance since I am figuring that's what I don't know/can't figure out how to do) as we build, that would make a big difference in ease of use and surely aid in a positive first impression. It might even add the opportunity at a more competitive game, timed builds, that kind of thing.

It'd be great if this game succeeds well, eventually able to be a multi player, both PVE and PVP, so, as it is early access no better time to bring forth suggestions.

I'll try to answer your questions in order.

Here's a Link to our Steam Guides that are available, including a Printable List of Keybindings:

Those need to be updated for the new shipyard but the functions should be fine in space.

I also upload tons of videos to our YouTube Channel

By default, all of your weapons are assigned to Weapon Group 1 as well as Manual fire. Click on an enemy, press C (to lock on), wait for the lock to complete, then press 1. Your entire gun array will target at that enemy whenever the enemy is A) in range and B) within the trajectory of the gun (guns facing sideways aren't going to fire towards the front of your ship etc.) If you choose to rebind keys, then yes you need to deal with whatever key you're replacing. By default the 1,2,3,4, keys are weapon group assignments, the F1-F9 keys are set to target selection (or you can click the target's icon). Also, pressing X will turn on your manual fire, you'll see a little crosshair pop up, click with your left mouse button to shoot in that direction (again, provided your guns are facing that way). Oh, I almost forgot, also the 5,6,7 keys are all automatically set to be based on weapon types (say you want all kinetic weapons to shoot target 3, but missile and energy to shoot target 1, you can do that by assigning 5 to target 3, and 6/7 to target 1 etc.)

If there is a way to make a drag system for key assignments (we drag the item we placed to the key we want to use after configuring the gun, for instance since I am figuring that's what I don't know/can't figure out how to do) as we build, that would make a big difference in ease of use and surely aid in a positive first impression. If you're referring to dragging weapon hardpoints onto the Weapon group assignments, there's no way for that to happen unfortunately. However, when you open the weapon group, click the weapon name (green box) the weapon it corresponds to on the ship will light up.

It'd be great if this game succeeds well, eventually able to be a multi player, both PVE and PVP, so, as it is early access no better time to bring forth suggestions.
We'd love to go multiplayer, but our team is super small so we have to priority the single player aspect right now. We'll look at the feasibility of multiplayer as the first expansion to Kinetic Void.

Hello everyone, first sorry for my English .... I will do my best!

The problem is the following = I can not attack anyone, my combat controls do not work!

When I meet an enemy I try to push TAB or Z to select a nearest enemy, nothing happens.

When I can select an enemy with the mouse I can not lock the target, try pressing C and nothing happens.

I've tried restarting the control on the default button and the problem continues, have also tried to verify the integrity of files by steam and every time I do it is found 1-4 files missing, the steam fixes but the problem continues.

* The ship has ammo
** I'm using the default striker ship that the game provides
*** Playing in non-creative mode

Do you have the correct type of ammo for the weapons you have installed?
If you attempt this in a creative galaxy do you still have the same issues?

I have the correct type of ammo - Kinetic (default Striker ship) and Ballistic (I installed it).
I don't try yet in creative galaxy...
Maybe the problem is because the sensor are not installed in Striker default ship... I will try later and give a feedback here....

Thank you all for the answers!
