This game is getting amazing!
Just wandering around, shooting bad guys and warping between beautifully generated planets and galaxies... well, this game is going on the right direction, and i'm getting addicted to design new ships, hope we get more and more options of parts and more options of tools for parts placement and such on the Shipyard.

Amazing and awesome screenshots ftw, hope someone like: http://imgur.com/a/JwKac

seems like i have to get the game, too ^^ looks cool. but how do you make the ship symmetric without symmetrical building? or are there hardpoints which make it way easier?

Each piece has points where you can weld others. You can rotate in small steps and switch between points on the fly when building your ship.
It's easy and fast, and the potential, well if you go take a look on the Steam Workshop for the game, it has tons of ships already, really amazing creations.

Next patch the shipyard's getting an overhaul as well guys, so keep in mind it'll get even more amazing in May :)

Nice! Meanwhile i'm letting my imagination drift along with the ships and lores i create for them.

Well up to now, the game has exceeded all of my expectations. It's by far the most complexed Early Access game that I have played up too now, and the ship design is epic. I don't remember ever playing another game where I have spent 6 hours designing one ship before now.

Indeed, Cadderley. Ship building is what makes this game shine right now. I had always been fan of games that let me customize my char/vehicle in anyway i want, and KV is king in ship customization at this point.

It feels like a (VERY) advanced version of Galatic Civ 2's shipyard. To the point where I've made it out the shipyard for, oh, 2 minutes of game time.... before i go back to shipyard. In a good way.

haha, yeah, i know how that is. But when the patch with missions get pushed, i think we'll have a lot of new things to do. I imagine things like: courier missions, having to transport some cargo from point A to B, escort missions, elimination/assassination missions, among other things...
But i think it's too advanced to think about this right now, i have faith in the devs and their schedule, they're showing amazing progress and enthusiasm.

I know that feeling very well. I go back too the ship yard because I go in game and think, "Damn, there's a slot there for an extra thrust engine", or, "WTH? I forgot too add a 67th Kinetic Beam Weapon to my forward hull". What starts off as a Level 1 Heavy Fighter end's up becoming a Level 3 Star Destroyer 6 hours down the line.

Oh, btw Kaypix and devs, i just love those Chromatic Aberration, Lens Flares and Bokeh lens dirt in the graphics. Please, i know a lot of people will be like "OMG! It's ugly! It's like my screen is scratched/dirty/old/blah blah blah.", but do not remove them!
Give the option as it is to enable and disable that kind of effect, but don't remove it, it's a thing that will make a lot of eyes shine (like mine!), even though there will be a lot more complaining about.

Congrats for the texturing/modeling guys, I noticed the Bump-mapping on some places of the parts and was like "Woah! Nicely done!".
I think i'll never get tired of taking screenshots in this game. =]

Nice looking ship designs, brid-like ships make me thinik of fried chicken.

I agree with Gazguts (Hey Gaz if your shadowclan, I'm Mog). I had a great few mins out of shipyard testing out my weapon arcs. By the Wargod, I love placing weapon arcs on shaceships, though with the new turrents, I'm having trouble placing large kinetic cannons on my broadsides... Are there still static weapon mounts that are not turrets?

Derrick:
All weapons are turretted at this point. I do not believe the guys are planning on changing back to static.

DLC:
You can turn off the camera dust in the game options :) Lens flares and aberration is just included in the build now :)

I think i did not express myself right, english is not my main language, sorry.
What i meant to say was: I love those post processing effects, and i would be really sad to see them removed because some player complained about them.

@derrickmoore, why would you prefer static turrets instead of the actual ones? For looks?
