Calling all Linux users!
Hey everyone, we have someone saying they're struggling with KV on Linux, and I know I've read a couple of you are using Linux. Could you be so kind as to let me know your version of Linux and whether or not KV is working for you? I'd very much appreciate it :)

Running a 64 bit system (Manjaro) with kernel 3.13.3 and latest proprietary nvidia driver (GTX 580).
The game starts fine, hangar works, controlls work, I can fly, I can fight and shoot stuff down. Music stops playing at random points, but I can still hear sound effects.

If I can test something specific for you let me know.

KV used to work for me (maybe 3-4 months ago) until a few patches ago (sorry, not sure which, havent been keeping track)

Now the game crashes when entering the game world after the ship building stage.

Ubuntu with FGLRX ATI drivers.

Abyssus:
Can you do a fresh install of the game for me and see if that clears up the issue?

Still happens.

The game world loads for a brief moment then crashes.

Does KB drop a crash log, and if so where?
It's not in the usual places for steam games.

Abyssus,

Yea we have a crash log dump file when the game crashes. I don't know if it is the same for a Linux as PC, but on PC it is under the Steam apps folder, then common.
Abyssus_j Mar 15, 2014 @ 5:07am
On linux its in /home/user/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Kinetic Void/Kinetic Void_Data/

I've had a look through the sub directories previously to posting here about it, but cant see anything that looks like a crash dump file.

Abyssus:
You only get a crash log file if your game legitimately crashes. IF you have an output log that'd be just the basic stuff of what's all happening.

Not sure what you mean by this. The crash is legitimate however KV seems to fail to produce a crash log.

Since there seems to be no propper crash log, heres an strace.

This can be done with any program on Linux by;
* Navigating to the programs directory, in this case: /.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Kinetic Void
* Execute the command > strace -o debug.txt ./Kinetic\ Void
