Only flight controls working?
Anyone else run into a stituation where none of your combat controls work? I thought X was supposed to activate manual fire but nothing. M doesn't bring up the map, and Esc won't bring up the menu. I haven't altered any controls, they simply aren't working. Ship flies just fine though. All the directional controls function as intended.

Can you verify the local cache for me and see if you're missing any files? X should be bringing up a crosshair over your cursor, V will turn on Mouse flight, and M should bring up the map. You can also click the map icon at the bottom left of the screen, but it is sounding like your bindings are goofing up somewhere.

Tried that, didn't do anything for me unfortunately. Other than flight controls I have no response from any keys.

Exit the game, get back to the main page and click Options, see if you can reset your controls to default for me.

Not sure why, but that did it! Target lock still doesn't seem to work but at least weapons do. Now if only it were possible to actually -hit- the AI :P

Target lock should just be the letter C, if you click on their radar icon you should see a white halo show up, hit C and see if it turns red, that's target locked. To release, shift+C will drop them. Using the auto fire will hit them more often than manual firing since it's taking their speed into consideration as part of the equations. Also, make sure you're not flying around at like 500 m/s or something when you're trying to fight them, otherwise you're more likely to miss ;)

Like I said, target lock still isn't working but I can at least manual fire. Impossible to hit when piloting a fighter, but if I'm piloting a class 4 or 5 ship then I fight larger enemies. Much easier to hit.

When you press the C button does the white halo turn red? If it does press 1 for auto fire.

When I press C, nothing happens. What is this halo you speak of?

The halo is a white ring around an object that appears when you select it with your mouse. For example, if you left click on a red triangle ( enemy ship ) a white ring appears around that ship. You can also click on asteroids, space stations, and friendly ships.
