Story / background ?
Hi !
I was wondering if there was a backstory for the kinetic void universe ( like who the different factions are or what their story is)

Thanks for your question. We don't have an official backstory since the game is sandbox, but we have some fun threads of users creating backstories of their factions etc.

Once the game is advanced enough, will there be a possibility to create custom campaigns/factions ?

Once the mission framework is in place, there will be a way to create missions using xml language, and as far as customizing factions, those are technically going to be save files I think? So you could just move them from one folder to another and achieve a new faction or reputation possibly. I'll know more once the faction system is in place how it'll all work out.

Btw, do you plan on adding a more precise painting system ? I'd love to draw some of my BF4 emblems on my big badass spaceship ;)

I'm not sure if or how we could implement a more precise detailing system, but I'll pass it along to our artist.

I'm not a programming expert - but there should be some way to have a graphic and then overlay it over the framemesh of the parts; I've seen it done in other games.

Aether: I know it's possible to make preset graphics so it feels like you're actually customizing each individual piece, maybe have it on the workshop or something along those lines, our artist has said as much. Unfortunately he's super swamped with making tons of assets for the gameplay portion. Once those are ironed out I'll see if he's able to revisit the painting stuff, but I'm just not sure how long the rest of his task list will take him.

Yeah pretty much lol, and make sure you have exceptional texture artistry abilities, are familiar with 3d modeling and animation and environmental detail and programming would be a definite bonus ;)
