This week in Kinetic Void (January 27 - February 2, 2014)
Hello to all our loyal customers/subscribers/forum buddies and more! This week we are getting to start moving forward in development and are super excited about it!
Well, I'm super excited, but I'm also highly caffeinated as I type my perspective may be a bit skewed. Here's what we're working on so far:

I have a gameplay video that's being rendered out right now (10.1% complete...sigh) and I'll be uploading that to our YouTube Channel and the forums once it's finished. It's just playing through Patch D8 a bit, showing how the drones launch and dock, going into a few combat situtations etc. It's 15 minutes long (which is long for me) but I didn't edit anything in it, no cuts of me babbling too much or screwing stuff up or fast-forwarding through a micro warp. It's all real time (that's on purpose).

I'm also uploading a Radar Icon Help file that'll be on the Guides page so people have a better idea of what they're up against strictly based on the triangle configuration of the other ships. If I have time this week I'll also start my Subsystems Guide, which will breakdown all the attributes of various subsystems, what they mean and how they affect (or will affect) gameplay.

The guys are working on the following:
Shaun (Artist) - New visual effects for the Micro Warp Drive effect (currently a foggy haze) Here's the GIF[] in action. He's also working on creating dust clouds that players will be able to actually fly through while in space. If he has time he'll be working on stations and how they look, as well as adding Station Outposts as a point of interest within a sector.

Kris and Matt (Programmers) are working on Faction AI , Mining drone AI and Trade systems this week. With any luck in the next couple patches, players will be able to start collecting ore that their drones collect and selling it to various stations.

Rick (Workshop Guru/Programmer) is working on mission framework this week, getting it all put together so it will work smoothly with the other aspects of the game.

Sean (Lead Dev) is helping me out on the forums from home since he has some contagious bug that's going around right now and we've quarantined him.

That's it for now, I'll keep you all updated! (Video is now at 34.5% complete...sad)

Are there any plans to add beam weapons or different varieties of projectile ones that do added damage to hull or beams that erode shields faster?

We will be adding additional weapon types once we have some other components added.

woa this game is getting better, i totally forgot i still got this game in my list. but to see it now and with all the updates it looks good. the video already made me happy inside :).

I Like. Day by day is better. :)

Sugestion to improvment

1 - more smooth movement to drones for now;
2 - acelerate and desacelerate too, (more smooht in begine and final warp);
3 - effect movment to CAMERA, litle movement aleatory to provocate sensation imersive.

I just made a drone carrier..launched 4 drones at zero forward velocity and all four were lost impacting themselves on my shields..:)

Its a path finding bug with the drones , try placing youre hangers on the rigth side of the hull or moving while launching . Just a case of waiting untill they have a chance to fix it .

The guys are working on making the drones launch straight out and then orbit from the docking point instead of the ship.

No movement at all and the drones had launched fine and entered a holding pattern just fine...then somehow they all decided that life was not worth living and flew straight into the ship.
