Too bad you can't get refunds. Just wait until this gets better, for whatever reason you are butthurt.
Turbine Jul 12 @ 10:00am
you can get refunds, of course you can

just because valve say they dont offer refunds....thats irrelevant, if you think you have paid for something you havent got, you are entitled to a refund....valve dont operate above the law but they act like they do, thats the thing with faceless corporations

that being said, if you did get a refund, valve would act like a big butthurt baby and ban your account which is something they can do, for any reason

So you want a refund due to your inability to understand how to make a starship? Or is it that you lack understanding on how to move the ship or how to fight correct? This game is early access, you bought this as you thought it would be interesting. But with early access comes changes to the UI, gameplay, appearance and so on. there are basic tutorials in game that teach you how to play.

Since I am posting this now it shows they do not ban you for a refund.....So your hypothesis is a bit off.So, why are you as you so eloquently put it....Butthurt?

Im sure he does not understand that Valve wont just "ban your account which is something they can do, for any reason". This statement that Turbine made is a little silly. They will only ban your account due to credit card fraud, Bank chargebacks, etc. Bank chargebacks essentially lets you keep the game into your library and Valve losing the money that you paid for the game. That would be grounds for your account to be banned, as this is simply stealing.

It says in the Steam Subscriber agreement "You can not get a refund for digital content"

What now?

I got a $60 refund for X-Rebirth, so yes you can get refunds if you ask enough. It's a one time thing unless the second time the game is a complete scam (like WarZ)

That was a buggy full release.

This is a buggy Alpha release.

Big difference.

Refunds and Valve, can you get one? Sure. Will it be as easy as walking into your local Game Stop and returning something? No.
Before you go screaming for a refund for anything a few things you should know. 1) when you buy Games in Beta AKA Early Access, you bought them as is, with the understanding that the game is not finished yet. You are not entitled to a refund because you bought it as is, (read your user agreement). There are exceptions to this rule, if the developer lied or posts false information pertaining to the game and how far along they are then Valve may chose to pull the plug and not host it, if they do that you are entitled to a full refund, (survivor 2099 or whatever it was called is a good example of this).
Secondly if you buy a game on Steam that is not compatable to your system, maybe you didn't read the requirements, or maybe a new update just screwed everything up, you can request a refund from Valve. They can refuse your request. If they chose to grant it, know that it is a one time deal. You will NEVER get another refund unless it is a mass refund for a game, (see above).
How do I know all this, because I have dealt with Valve personally. I bought Metro Last Light almost 3 months ago and still can't play it even though it is advertised as to work on my system, and I have all the proper hardware. No it turns out it was a recent update that threw it all off and "they are working on fixing the issue" I waited and waited and finally I got mad and started calling people. (screw email, I pick up a phone and start calling people, my lawyer is usually the first person I dial.) I had a great conversation with a young man at Valve and he explained my options. I have the option to get a full refund, but I won't be able to get another one for any other game on my Steam account in case something goes wrong. Or I could wait and hope that the devs at Deep Silver fix it. Thats it, and I was only offered a refund because it is a game that is well past full release.
So there you have it. I see a lot of kids on Steam forums get all upset and try to "demand a refund", Its not that easy.

Not really. You can ask for a one time refund but like I said unless the next one is a scam they wont ever do it again.
Variant Jul 15 @ 3:27pm
No because Valve doesn't allow for refunds for Early Access games.
