This is an issue other Unity games get on Macs as well, we are trying to find a solution. Have you tried running it in windowed mode?

oneshotvish - I've found a work around to getting the game up and running, as LumberingTroll mentioned we are looking into what is causing the issue.

Step 1) Launch KV normally, once you hear the music press CMD + F to get out of full screen mode and back into windowed mode.

Step 2) Open the Graphics Option Menu and turn off Anti-Aliasing and hit the Apply button.

Step 3) Re-Open the Graphics Option Menu and reset the resolution and fullscreen mode options and then hit apply.

I have a similar problem on Linux. The game opens up a non fullscreen window, but never gets to the point of playing music even. I tried to attach strace to the game process but I receive an Operation not permitted error, even though the process is running under the same user. When I try launching the game under strace, it seems to do some execve()s that strace doesn't seem properly able to interrogate. When this happens, steam is launched, and Kinetic Void relaunches. Not sure how else to troubleshoot or what information would be useful.

If you go into the "/Users/*YourLaptopName*/Library/Application/Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Kinetic Void" there is a display.cfg file and change the Anti-Aliasing value to 0 that will effectively do the same thing.

If you can find the player.log file and send to me that would be great. It should be located here: "~/.config/unity3d/BadlandStudio/KineticVoid/Player.log" shoot it over to Kris@badlandstudio.com

If you open up steam and go to your library and right click on the Kinetic Void name. Open up the Properties option at the bottom of the list. Next click on the "Local Files" tab under this tab there is an option to "Browse Local Files.." that should open up to directory that has the display.cfg file. Then you can just follow the step about and set the Anti-Aliasing to 0.

I noticed that my copy of the game (reinstalled several times, verified etc.) was missing the steam_appid.txt file. I found the appid, filled in the missing steam_appid.txt file, and now I can run the game from a shell prompt--but not Steam.
