Hey,

We've had a few people report problems which have turned out to be because a laptop has more than one graphics chipset (usually a low-end one built in to the motherboard, and a fast one in an expansion slot), and the game attempts to use the wrong graphics chipset and crashes.

The solutions to this problem vary depending on your system and graphics card, but here are the common ways to set your system to force it to use the best graphics chip for the game.

Method one:
1) Open the control panel for your graphics card (most have an icon in your system tray, or right-click on your desktop and look for a graphics control panel option there).
2) Check under 3D settings, and make sure your best graphics chipset is set as the preferred chipset if there is an option available.

Method two:
1) Exit Steam entirely using the 'Exit' link on the 'Steam' menu (not just the close button in the top-right corner of the Steam window).
2) Right-click on the 'Steam' shortcut you use to launch Steam (on your desktop, taskbar, or start menu, depending on where you have it), and look for an option that says something like 'Run with graphics processor...' and allows you to choose which graphics chipset to use.
3) Choose your best graphics chipset.
4) Launch Steam, then launch the demo as normal.

Method three (NVidia):
1) Click on the Windows icon on the bottom left hand corner.
2) Click on Control Panel on the right-hand side of the menu.
3) Click on Nvidia Control Panel.
4) Expand the 3D Settings tab by clicking on the "+" sign on the left-hand side of 3D Settings.
5) Click on Manage 3D Settings.
6) Choose High-performance NVIDIA processor under the Preferred graphics processor option.
7) Save the new settings.

If none of these methods work or you don't have these options please contact us (nza.support@rebellion.co.uk), include as many details as you can about the make and model of your laptop and graphics hardware, and we'll investigate further and try to help.

Kind Regards,

All methods mention by Rebellion I already tried and none of it works. I made the comment countless times that nobody shoud have to change any settings to force a game to play. I have other games that are much more demanding and they work just fine and without effort. Methods they speak of is a work around and hope it will work kind of thing. I have one of the best cpu and gpu on the market today with lastest drivers. I in the past built computers and know what I'm doing. This game has issues that only Rebellion can fix and not the end user. To be honest, I never played a game like this that gives so much trouble.

Me being in front of your computer could help a lot to get it fixed. It's hard to do it by the distance via a forum.

You have no idea all the things I tried to make it run. It would be different if the game was free but a customer paying for it shouldn't have to go through this. If I had it on cd it would become a fllying frisbee.

I have the game set to run on my Nvidia gpu not Intel. I never had a game that a person has to go into the Nvidia panel and make alterations to Force it into running right. For exsample I play Crysis 3 and Dead Space just to name a few without making any changes what-so-ever and they run circles around Zombie. I find this situation crazy and frustrating. To be honest I gave up and feel it's not our responsibility to do anything on our part about this.
perhaps you should send a DxDiag to the developers instead of whinging perhaps this would solve your problem

Perhaps you should ask if I'm having directX problems and errors which that isn't the case before telling me what I should be doing. What you call whinging I call telling the truth as I see it.

The game crashed on me like 18 times with the notorious black screen. I did contact the developers but was in a sweet way ignored. I'm not looking for enemies here just a fix besides they already know of it's problems.
