Hello everyone, we have just released update 2.0.4! We're sorry we kept you waiting, but we can assure you that there are a lot more updates, improvements as well as some brand new stuff up ahead! Just make sure to stay tuned.

And here's the 2.0.4 changelog:


- Multiple achievement and objective fixes
- Improved creation of naval supply lines
- Fixed pathfinding bug for paths through multiple buildings
- Updated in-game help references
- Fixed problems with faction intimidation calculations
- Fixed pathfinding bugs related to units in seasonally blocked terrain
- Adjusted forts/resources/raiders in Britain, Southern Alps and in Helvetii starting area
- AI is more aggressive at disbanding extra units when starving
- Added default XP for units in the campaign
- Improved AI use of upgrades
- Fixed problems with AI and truces
- Fixed problem with units getting stuck inside constructed camps
- Fixed fishery food production

This is a great game! Glad I found it! Any chance the Roman units are coming back for the sandbox mode or will it only be the legions?

That looks like what happens when the texture for the strategy map is missing. Have you verified your cache file to rule out a failed update?

in the next update it would be awesome to add a testudo for legions which will block most projectiles but move slow and are very vonerable to charges in the back left and right side of the formation

Ronin,

1) Try setting your Texture Detail settings to high

2) Without being very sure about this, try deleting your settings.xml file on "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Longbow Digital Arts\Hegemony Rome". And run the game again. Verify cache if running the game doesnt fix that.

I used both of this solutions, two times when my game had problem

We've discovered that the latest version doesn't properly install safesettings.xml after a startup error, so if you were relying on that, that would be a problem.

When you say you're using safesettings.xml, did you literally copy safesettings.xml into C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Longbow Digital Arts\Hegemony Rome/Settings.xml?

We fixed a performance issue with the coloured map overlay that caused some stuttering when you started a new, big campaign while the AI was going around and capturing all its resource buildings.

There's another significant performance issue in large sandbox games in the late-game. The fix for that is coming in the next version. We're hoping to release a beta version of 2.0.5 tomorrow, so watch the discussions if you're interested in switching over to that version.
