Hopefully. In the meanwhile, fans have found a couple ways to play it in Linux:

Primordia uses the Adventure Game Studio engine, so it can run on Linux: "Compile + install AGS from git, cd to the directory that you have Primordia.exe stored in and just run 'ags'. The only issue is that the rain plugin doesn't work. As such in the junkyard you will hear the rain but not see it. This works for all other Wadjet Eye Games, but in all of them rain will not be visible." Instructions by Joe Davison, at the link above.

Any news on an official port?
Mark Y. Nov 29, 2013 @ 6:00pm
Nothing. I've talked to the publisher about it -- I have no coding know-how -- and it's a low priority item. To the extent any ports are on the horizon, it's probably iOS, and even that is far off. Sorry. It sounds like the information above is the best it's gonna get.

In the future, we hope to use a more portable engine and insure that everyone can play it natively.

Have you guys considered releasing a Wine Wrapper version in the meantime?
Mark Y. Dec 4, 2013 @ 10:33pm
To be honest, I'm not sure what that would entail. I'll forward the question onto WEG, though, as they're really in control of those kind of publishing-related things.

+ 1 Linux version

All these plus ones add up to a lot of guilt! This is one area where I'm not really able to do anything other than cheerlead alongside you guys, but I know that the publisher is aware of the demand. The trick is that the coder who would port this has a young daughter, and I can say from experience that doesn't leave a lot of the sustained time and attention that coding requires. But I do think it will happen someday.

why on GOG there is a mac version for this ( and not in Steam?
Mark Y. Dec 28, 2013 @ 2:21pm
Again, this is a publisher thing, but my understanding is that GOG developed (or perhaps purchased) a Mac front-end / wrapper for the game, basically just an integrated emulator. It wasn't something we developed. I'm not even sure whether Steam works with (or allows) front-ends like that.

I know that for a while, there was also a free WinE front-end floating around, but it seems like it was taken down once GOG's became available. I'm not sure it would've worked with Steam anyway, though.

Mark, thanks for the explanation. I bought it a while ago for pc but never played, now that I have some spare time and a mac while traveling I can't hence the small frustration. It's ok though, I will return home at some point and then I will play on my windows pc.
