Is it me or the new deck is really hard to play
At the beginning most of the weapons are fairly short range and you keep facing enemies with much higher range.

I had issues too. I ended up playing most of the missions twice. Once with a mono deck then again with both allowed factions.

I've found one 5 range weapon (unlocks from level 5 story challenges) but it has very long cooldown (3 turns) and -1 speed (works with symbol of authority).

After you unlock the three modfications of Visionary Chassis (Oslaught, Generator, Victory) the Dmitry deck suddenly becomes very viable. There are 3 advantages of the Visionary Chassis. 1- It gains full health on transformation. 2- You get to spawn really strong units for cheap. 3- Gives strategic depth.

For me personally I don't see it so much as a weapon problem. Sure that pistol is a bit weak but if you combine it with a Symbol of Authority you get both decent damage and enough speed to get in range on long range clads.

To me the largest issue where that you have to waste so many cards on clads. A normal deck for me only had 4 clads in it but here even if you just go for visionary + onslaught you are still looking at at least 6-7. Add that you more or less need Symbol of Authority until you get the Assault Saber and your deck becomes very limited.

The only mission I had to fall back on a non pure dimitri deck to do all challanges where Richmond, VA (the plantation) and of course last mission.

Ah thanks for the tips, as you all said it is much easier if you spend time unlocking all the bonus cards before to proceed too far. Once you have the three first chassis, it becomes much easier.

Yes, going for Visionary+Onslaught is ineffective and I think this is not what the deck is designed for. Dmitry's better for balanced strategic options, but worse for extreme decks.

I wouldn't call a 4 clad deck extreme, it's just a normal deck. 4-5 clads (either 4 of one type or 3+2), 4-5 weapons, 0-4 infantry depending on if they are useful for the mission or not and the rest a mix of tactics (maneuver and repair being the most important ones). That's a standard deck that works for almost all missions in the game. It gives the best mix of strategical and tactical options.

I agree that a Dmitry deck has to have more Ironclads, and correspondingly less infantry (because there's just Dmitry). I have 8 Ironclads in my Dmitry-only deck. Hoshi, I'm surprised that you had so little infantry in your other decks! My decks tended to break down as 5-5-5-5, just because that's what I thought was suggested by the little bar graphs on the left. I'd love to see which works better sometime..

I never found infantry to be very useful out of capturing points. Not only can they be trampled but also have low hp, can't be repaired (the new escape plan card is sort of a repair I guess but you lose board position from it so not so useful) and gain no victory points. So the only infantry I use in my decks are cheap and fast, Raider, Foxrunner, Scout depending on faction limitations.

Infantry usefulness depends on the level but I have to say I love engineers (and infantry Dmitry too). And when PVP was active, everyone and their mother used raiders. Also other infantry such as Shotgun merc, Sharpshooter and Fox runner were seeing play. Unless the level specificly forces, my infantry is never zero.
