Punkbuster has got to go.

This game is unplayable with punkbuster. I followed a link someone gave me to a newer version, and it worked fine at first. But since the last patch, it's worthless. in my first (and last) 5 minutes of play today, PB kicked me 2 times, then the game crashed. Something about packet loss, not being able to update PB. I manually update it every day, it's up to date and i still get this ♥♥♥♥. As far as i'm aware PB doesn't do anything but kick players for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reasons. Fairfight is handling hackers just fine. It's time for Punkbuster to be retired.

I completely agree with you, to most people it's the same error with the fu***ng punkbuster, that's my main reason why would cease to play this wonderful game, overshadowed by the failures of PB
and no help from the developers

sounds like you have issue communicating with pb servers

check your internet connection,

if you are using wireless then just keep in mind that wireless can be problematic for any game

also some cable modems/routers are problematic

both nothing to do with pb

if you continue to have problems with pb contact evenbalance.

The punkbuster kicks, the game crashes, the game freezes and the glitchy as zombies all need to be fixed but will they? Unlikely they are incompetent devs.

Punkbuster is not the problem....countless other games use it without many problems.

It's the incompetent developers who can't implement it into their game correctly

I think you should use another method anticheat that used in other games that are much more effective, district187 game system works very well and rarely see hackers, or using some other but PB in other runs well, but in this game has many problems many, and we all know there is no solution would be for any of the 2 parts...

should not be so complicated set the PB, the game ETQW I never had to do any extra configuration and PB worked ok

it is strange that the modem fails, also with other games using PB runs ok, is the game that is not properly aligned to PB, developers have to REPAIR THIS BUG WITH PB and not waste time with minor updates or another until works ok, because the PB is the main PROBLEM of this game

I rarely have problems with PB. Beside the "if you alt+tab you will get PB kicked" issue.
And ever since PB got added I have seen a noticable drop in the number of people who I felt were hacking. Which leads me to wonder if the "PB is broken" and 'pb needs to be removed" threads arn't just people who have gotten banned by it and want it taken off so they can hack again.

Well, i constantly get a message that reads something like: "Player" was kicked by punkbuster [for 0 Minutes] time out trying to update PB client.

Which is stupid because i run the PB updaters before i start playing and they always say up to date. So what do i do here? Where does this PB updater come from? It's certainly not patching during the launch. So what? What do i do? Leave the game running in the character screen for a few minutes before going in? Wait a few minutes after being kicked? Will it eventually update or is it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ error?

Honestly I couldnt tell you Warshrike. I used to get that error every once in a while, but it seemed to clear up for me a few weeks back when I manually downloaded PB and updated. If you've done that already then sadly I don't have any further advice for you. Best of luck.

PB its your time to go or upgrade your sytem because hacke can easily get past you
