Infestation support or lack of
I loved this game, and adminned our private pve server until last week when I got permanently banned as a hacker. All I was doing was standing outside Boulder chatting in game with another player about the ever present change in loot spawns. Suddenly I was dead and could not access the game anymore. I put in a ticket- still not assigned. I messaged an in game moderator who read my post and blocked me. I messaged Kewk and that message has not been read yet. It is interesting to see him post in July about taking false bans seriously. I have not found this to be true and see many others who are in my current circumstances. I loved playing this game, and as a 50 year old female I would think they would celebrate with me. As Serg suggest repurchase it but I do not see how I could just to get banned a few months down the road for no apparent reason.

Thats the trick, they do that so you DO buy it again, bans are random, and they hope those ppl buy the game again if they are addicted, and honestly, it has worked quit often because lots of ppl do.

I guess I can only get the message out so people make an educated decision about buying the game.

sorry to hear.

pb/ff do delayed bans in the minutes, hours, days, weeks and even months after repeatedly being flagged for something over a period of time.

so you were not banned for "All I was doing was standing outside Boulder chatting in game with another player about the ever present change in loot spawns. Suddenly I was dead and could not access the game anymore."

the decision to ban you by pb/ff was made most likely before and it just scheduled to be executed when you were as you described jsut standing around. some find out when next they login. its made to be random when it happens.

its is done this way on purpose so people who are banned do not know why, when, where, etc they were banned and so that it is difficult for those who develop hacks/cheats to create countermeasures.

understand that pb looks at what is installed on your computer, what is running, what is in memory, what is on your harddisk, what is in your registry, perhaps what is happening over the internet.

ff looks at telemetry that the game is transmitting from you and the servers. it looks for people who cheat and who glitch. its a rules engine. it mines the database of information collected. it looks for unusual activity and for people trying to go around the rules. for example being on top of buildings one cant get to, picking up or possessing items that one cant possible have, sniping across the map with a shotgun. etc.

the question to ask first is who banned you and why was it pb or was if ff

it sounds to me like ff, but i am not sure since no exact details are provided.

if it was pb it gives you a violation number and associated message

if it was ff it just gives you a message

normally both give out warning, pb will normally kick / temp ban you before permanently banning you.

here hope it helps, it covers some of the above in greater details, walks you through finding out who may have banned your and possibly finding out why, and then it covers what if anything you can do about it and who you would need to contact to appeal a band.

please understand that pb is independent 3rd party, nothing to do with hammerpoint. and actually now support is also a 3rd party. if you create a ticket someone will eventually look at it, about a week or so, depending on how many other tickets are in the queue, and while you will never be given the information that pb/ff has collected they will make a decision based on the information independent of hammerpoint.

also understand that there is nobody on the other side randomly banning people. if there were zen/pb/ff would pull the plug on hammerpoint.

and yes you may have been banned as result of a bug or a mistake, so its good to create the proper ticket and have someone look into it. if enough people report a problem, it will bubble up in the support queue, someone will look into it and hopefully be a ble to reproduce the issue being report it, fix it and then finally unban those who reported it and were affected. sure it takes a bit of time, and if tthere is always a chance that when someone looks at it they will not be able to see your issue or reproduce the issue, etc. so even if it there is an issue it takes time no guarantees and so it best if many people having the same issue report it. if they dont it just delays it and reduces chances that it will be looked at and resolved.

to better understand please post the exact message that your getting

and please post of any prior messages, warnings, crashes, kicks, or other issues that we happening befor you were banned for example pb unable to connect to servers or pb unable to update definitions or perhaps multiple accounts running game, etc

finally, this idea that goes around that buying more copies of the game is what they want you to do is plain wrong. pb/ff looks for people who are going around bans, so all that will happen is you will buy additional copies, and if pb catches you and flags you as going around a ban they will flag you and eventually you will be banned even worse than last time cause this time its for going around ban. keep doing it and if its pb banning you you may find that they ban you not just from this game, but from other pb games as well and if you upset pb enough they can ban your ip, your machine and even the components in your machine. so there is no point of going around a ban, it will only get you banned quicker.

its like getting banned from steam and creating another account to go arround the ban. 1st its against eula of the game and of steam and of pb. ect. so you already in violation the minute you create the 2nd account. and ff/pb can look at at your machine id, your ip address, your mac address etc. so it does not take long for them to figure out its you.

there is like one member i think he was posting he got banned like 10 times and he still keeps on doing it, who knows why, i guess the game is very additictive to them. still hammerpoint in one of the videos was even talking about it how they just found him again and ff was banning him again. so i guess he keeps buying copies. its just nuts. its like having 10 or more steam accounts just to get around bans for cheating.certainly if he was not cheating the 1st time by the time its 10th time its gotta be cheating, certainly going around ban.

All that is false, ignore this troll!

Buying a second account is not against steams EULA, I personally have 2 accounts, 1 from CS 1.6 days when it merged to steam, and this one when I bought the CS:Source pack that came with all the games I owned previously, so I made a 2nd account.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Hammerpoint is just ripping people off, they were a company called arktos ent. before, and then they created hammerpoint, ported war inc to warz and is now bending everyone over for money. Whoever says different, oh well, there getting bent over and loving it. Just look at the marketplace...it's the ONLY thing that works properly. This game is in alpha at best. Don't buy another copy and let this company bully you because that's exactly what there doing. I'm sure some wont agree and say " no man the game has come so far, there doing great!" But look at the game yourself. It's unfinnished, they raise GC prices slowly all the time ugggh this game is just terrible. Please be good to yourself and don't buy another copy, you can bet your ♥♥♥ thats what they want, you even said sergay said "well just buy another copy" Clearly if this was an honest legit company they would look into your ban, see it was false and either refund you or GIVE you another copy. These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s are jokes, taking advantage of people all the time. Do some research on the company and the game, you'll see what im talking about.

Following is the best advice I have seen so far. But first:
After reading some of these lengthy responses it became apparent that PB does not ban at least not me- I did have some warning when I atl tabbed out- heart beat detection and such. On the "Wall of Shame" all banned lists I've ever seen were from FF and the screen shot someone elst too said FF banned me. On my side I saw Hack detected.... No warning- nothing, no FF no PB.
This looks like the best way to deal with it.

Informal Negotiations. To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy or claim related to this Agreement ("Dispute"), You and OP Productions agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least 30 days before initiating any arbitration or court proceeding. Such informal negotiations shall commence upon written notice from one party to the other. OP Productions will send its notice to Your billing address and email You a copy to the email address You have provided to us. You will send Your notice to OP Productions, OP Productions LLC., c/o The Corporation Trust Company, 1209 Orange Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA.

3/ If after 30 days of an informal dispute you can proceed to part B of section 15 in the EULA, this covers BINDING arbitration. It also says in that part that if the arbitrator (a specific organization is quoted as the one to use) deems that the cost of you taking part in the mediation is excessive then OP Productions are obligated to pay 100% of the fees and expenses, It is likely that flying to California would be deemed excessive, so win win for you if HP dont unban you during the 'informal dispute'

NOTE : IF you follow step 2 and 3, this gives you the right to sue them in court for your money back etc etc, My laywer is the one who told me to follow these steps after he read the EULA when I wanted to sue them.
