They Changed the Name?

I'm genuinely wondering why they changed the name for this game.

Did they actually fix and change big things like random banning, all the hackers, and taking a million hits to kill a zombie with a flashlight, or is this just another attempt at a cash grab?

The fact that they still have a cash-shop for a game you buy makes me feel like the latter...

There was a time I was interested in this game, and almost bought it, until a friend told me about it when he bought it on release, and after I learned about all the lies and controversy behind the game's creation and marketing.

I'm still kinda thinking about buying this, but don't want to waste my money on a possible cash-grab for an unfinished clone.

if u know how to farm u can find almost all cash items in game and no need to donate

They did change the name for legal reasons and from what else I've read, no, it doesn't seem like they fixed anything. IMHO, wait for Day Z standalone and don't let yourself get screwed over by this trainwreck...

Okay, thanks for the info. I forgot DayZ was getting a standalone.

They changed the name because everyone bashed Warz for being a scam. So now they can sell people a new scam with the same game!

Yeah, the name, WarZ, was too similar to World War Z. There is supposedly going to be a World War Z video game as well. I guess this gives "WarZ" a clean slate to scam more gamers looking for a true zombie apocolypse survival game. Shame its the top seller.

They got a ceace and desist order way back in december for the name. It was too similar to the World War Z movies name. Infestation: Survivor Stories was the original name of the game, but the devs changed it to WarZ to cash in on the movie, and the DayZ craze. They've known for months that they would need to change it, they've just been holding out on it to scam as many people as they could.

@tornmonster The game devs had a great idea for a full game, a great concept of Zombie survival. But to be honest after going to my friends house and playing it, ITS HORRIBLE!!
Its pretty much an unfinished clone of the real and better DayZ. Its so bad. Graphically it looks great. But gameplaywize, hackers and spawnkillers everywhere. Cant even get a bat or kill a zombie without a modder running around killing you. You get randomly banned from servers for stupid reasons. THE GAME ITSELF IS BROKEN!!!!!

always a red flag when the name changes.. can only think of dino beatdown, and that drug wars game offhand. both TERRIBLE. this game seems just ok at best, and has microtransactions and loads of controversy. would pass.

it isnt a knock off of dayz cuz thats is a mod for arma 2 which therefore isnt an actual zombie apocolypse mmo. ur argument is invalid lol. as for the name controversy so wat if the game appeals to you then buy it and enjoy all i can tell u is this when you log onto a server hit tab and see if there are any pvpers (thugs, bandits, etc..) log off the server and find one that doesn't have so said player types on it.

After reading every other post here, I feel like you're delusional. Just because something is a mod doesn't mean it can't be coppied in any way shape or form. Plus, there's a ton of proof and information on the web that proves WarZ was a cash grab. I was just wondering if they changed their ways or if they're still just robbing people, and it sounds like they are.

And that second part about avoiding servers with bandits and thugs sounds really stupid and boring, and makes me feel as if appearently the fun servers are filled with hackers.

Dino Beatdown is actually a fantastic game. The name change was not in any way an attempt to trick people. And the devs are great guys, and very active in the community.
