email locked to guest acct. still after purchase

I'm not going to create a whole new email just to play this game. When launching the updater it even tells me it is linking steam in association with this game. Well entering the email and password that I have from months ago when I used a guest pass tells me time is expired and I need a new key, now I OWN the game and never recieved a key to continue on. I can't register a new acct. b/c the email is in use.
