Why are people still buying this?

Ok, every single review out there about this game have the same conclusion, this isnt even a beta product. But if you check steam best seller the game is always on the top 100.
Guess
1- People want to see how really bad the game is by themselves.
2- Does hammerpoint promises updates that at least make people feel they are playing a final product?
3-Is hammerpoint still updating the game?
The game seems to have potential, but looks like its just still on that way, being a good idea in paper but bad in execution.

most reviewers gave their end verdict a lower value because of the fact that Hammerpoint has lied about some stuff on their page. Hammerpoint is still updating the game. The game is VERY, and I say VERY unpolished graphics wise, that's something a lot of reviewers find important. I also think that should be good. I understand both sides of the argument. The key gameplay elements though, that is sneaking, being stealthy, dealing with players, etc. are done effectively. It got an even lower rating because DayZ was getting famous before The War Z was announced. Most people, including me, just thought that this was trying to get a bit of DayZ's success. I still think this, but then again, I think that you shouldn't judge a game until you played it yourself. Something that you yourself are guilty of. It's not always black or white, so don't go agree with your favorite youtubers because you saw what they thought. Just see it for yourself.

It's zombie theme is probably the most appealing aspect. Ne\/er paid attention to most of the "promises" the creator made as I just watched gameplay and it looked decent enough at that cheap price I bought it for.

zombies pose a huge threat though unlike dayz cause it takes like only 5 hits and your dead and since everytime you die you have to wait 1 hour it makes the survival of your character all the more important its too bad they have a pay to revive system though would be cool if they kept the one hour thing but got rid the pay to revive system

This has got to be one of the worst item systems. Just buy loads of stuff then get killed on a supposed 'PVE' server, those are people who ruin this pile of ♥♥♥♥. :/

Why people buy this? Cheap price sells anything. People values their entertainment. For me it is about 4 euros per hour. Games like Skyrim are good investment and I would buy it, if I got time to play it someday, even at full price. While games like Brink which is quite bad I would never touch full priced.

But if you drop price enough, you start notice that it actually can entertain you for the hour or two.
