Is it even possible for a single player to enjoy this game?
I'm trying to keep an open mind and really want to enjoy this game but so far, it's been pretty hard to do that.

Crashes and servers problems aside, when the game actually does work, it seems to be nothing more than me running around in the woods until I find some buildings so I can try in vain to sneak around and pick up some stuff.

There are no NPC's, no other people, no way to outrun zombies and no weapons available. There is a concept called TOYS (Tools of your surroundings) which points out that every object you can hold can be used as a weapon. A wooden branch, a rock, a pipe, a piece of machinery, construction materials, etc. etc. It is infuriating to be completely at the mercy of zombies and it seems the only possible way to actually participate in the game is to send the developers a bunch MORE of my money so I can actually defend myself.

That is soooo NOT gonna happen.

I've tried normal and hardcore modes and from what I've seen, hardcore simply means you don't ever respawn and you get to start waaaay out in the woods.

I guess it's my own fault for buying an "online game" - I really should know better by now. I won't join any groups because I don't come to play a game to be cannon fodder for someone else's agenda and I cannot stand to listen to brainless chat about who would win a fight between Mariah Carey or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I just want to play a game for crissakes.

While I'm here, I should probably ask how we aim our firearms when we finally do find them. Is it a FPS vs TPS thing?
