THE WARZ TOP 20 SELLING GAME ON STEAM (AGAIN)
please dont send me hate mail, i'm just reporting the obvious facts.

since the warz reappeared in steam store not that long ago i've been watching on a daily bases it's meteoric climb up the charts!

right now its top 20 selling game and top 50 most played gamed on steam!

inspite of all the well known past and present issues, this thing is still selling. people actually continue to buy it in hordes i guess, more than most other titles, including AAA titles.

in fact its coming real close to arma 2 sales (which are really dayz sales). so i wonder if in the next couple days or weeks it will pass dayz, it can happen if the developers keep plugging away and can bring to market the game that they originally envisioned.

so congrats to the developers, and my hopes with all the buyers that it does not come crashing down on people's heads like the last time and that we can end up with a good game.

This is in no way hate mail. But there are a LOT of little kiddies on steam. They will buy it without a second thought. It's like COD, it sold well because mostly kids bought it

i dont disagree with you at all. it could very well be.

i was shocked to see it rising the way it has. its like they hit the ball out of the park with this thing. or better like a zombie keep coming back!

i dont have access to the numbers and demographics, but people are buying it. now i'm going to watch on a daily bases not only the top selling chart, but i'm goint to look for any movement in the number of active players.

Just wait a little bit...when they first released it in December it was top seller and at one point it even had alot of players...but these things changed very fast...after the first people get bored with it, it will fall again...
and to the sales: Justin Biebers CD also have high sales, does this make his music good?

There are just too many very stupid people. I mean the history of this game is outrageous. Even if the developer could make this into a good game, nobody should buy it. It was a fraud, from the beginning to now and it is beyond my understanding why steam was willing to add it again. I can only assume that valve has lost all control over steam. They can t decide what is good for the players or not. Or they just don t care.

I mean it is not he first game they worked with this tactic. False advertising, false promises, fake screenshots, very low quality game... i mean, how can this guy still make games and sell them? It makes me mad ... and sad.

What happens if other developers see this? We can t make it the honest way because our games are very low quality? Just do it the hammerpoint way and get ritch, ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

WHYYYY?

Oh christ, prepare for a gigantic storm of people swarming in here and complaining about how they didn't read anything.

You have to consider three things. One, since it was a top 20 game when it was first introduced to steam, i'm pretty sure those sales still count towards it's climb to the top. Two, refunds from the first release probably don't lower the games purchase stats, considering steam has never had to deal with a mass refund request, the refunds don't subtract from the initial purchase count. And three, since the introduction of f2p games on steam, there has been a MASSIVE spike in the amount of very young children on steam, and they don't really have any sort of concept of buyer research.

Not to mention they have NO concept of proper game playing either. They jump into games like COD, start saying things they hear in action movies and think they are cool and great at the game. But otherwise, +1 for your comment.

Some people are beyond help.
Let them support the worst/greedy/lying sack of poo developers to ever hit gaming ever, and let them get lied to and cheated against.
Its their money and time, tho we did try and warn them and thats all we can do sadly.
Cronik Mar 5, 2013 @ 4:39am
The game is live and kicking thousands of players, skill tree released let's hope the support for the game continues. It may be slow progress but I for one cant w8 to get all the promised features.
Skyforger Mar 5, 2013 @ 4:48am
By the time all the promised features are out, the full dayz standalone will be out.
Which at this point looks amazing, people will flock to that.
As the only reason people play this, is there is no decent competition atm, without jumping through hoops to get it on armaII.

The game will be dead in the water, with only a few people left that are to stubborn to move and want to go down with the ship, or cannot afford the standalone as it could be higher priced.

really??

Its probably picked up in sales because its in the news. All you people that sl*g it off are the reason i bought it, and im glad i did. I wanted to make my own mind up, and what it proved to me is that many people criticising the game have not played it (those that have and dont like it, please dont start crying). So, the more you haters keep on hating, the more attention the game gets which leads to more sales. So keep up the hating lol.

That is so hardcore, you bought a game to ♥♥♥♥ off interwebs people?....Haters must be flipping tables right now! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

OT: Yeah, I agree with the younger gamer theory. Cheap zombie shooting fun they can afford, quality or developer behavior goes out the window as long as they have some pew-pew mindless fun.

Silv3r9, i bought a game to make my own mind up, instead of being a little sheep who follows the opinions of everyone else and doesn't have an opinion of their own. Idiot.
