Tried War Z - Liked it BUT

So I've never played Day Z so perhaps this is why my expectations were low and I played War Z for the first time today with a friend and i have to say I enjoyed it. No issues with the game at all. To me it seems like the type of game that you simply can't play alone, if you do you won't enjoy it.

My only problem is that taking damage and healing is clearly leaning too far in the pay to win area for me. Too little healing loot for a PvP game and its only going to create a huge divide over well equipt and geared players in the long run so for me I would want to see healing happen over time (say 24 hours) back to full health if you have no bandages or food or money.

The play to win aspect of the game really is the biggest draw back for War Z. The game itself I am happy with, I set my expectations aside and enjoyed it.

Luckily a friend who I trust bought it and gave me an unbiased review of it himself. Yes there are downsides but for the price of it I got what I paid for. Its certainly not up there on graphics and animation but the game is what you make of it and I actually rather enjoyed it.

I certainly would never spend a single penny on its market place, the game got £15 and thats it nothing more because yes its about 10 years behind in many ways.

Thanks Rizzo, I had wondered why people seem so offended that a few people are enjoying it. Sure its not a game up to modern standards but in the scheme of things for MMO Zombie Survial its one of 2 really and since I've not played the other (due to the fact War Z is cheaper to buy than copies of Arma on steam) I cant compare.

It's not an MMO, and it's not a survival game. That's where you are wrong. Just for a quick example as I don't feel like writing a book at the moment;

If you added zombies to War Inc, does it suddenly become an MMO survival game? The short answer is no, it does not. It's an FPS with zombies in it.

I shouldn't even have to give an example of why it's not a survial game, it's staring you right in the face and laughing. That would be like calling any game where you die, a survival game.

While Torchlight 2 is a way better game (in terms of quality) it was a much larger waste of my money as I just couldn't really get into it. I'd rather have my 30 dollars back.

What is the term for when I feel like anyone uses terms like ad hominem or strawman as their own defense?

You are better off moving that $15 budget and spending on another f2p mmo (that's actually good) or buy a 30 day subscription or something.

You really don't wanna go there. :) Does War Inc. have persistent worlds? Meaning if no one is in the game, the world still exist? Is the game world up 24/7 365 days a year besides random down times? I know WarZ resets every 12 hours or so but that's understandable because the clutter would be insane. If the answer is yes, War Inc is an MMO, if the answer is no, War Inc. is not an MMO. I have no idea because i've never played the game. But isn't there an end in War Inc. then you start another match?

Nope, not a mmo.
It's a online instanced game, players don't even communicate in the game lobby when searching servers. The game doesn't use matchmaking servers, the players are actually client sided when they are looking for servers, they aren't in a lobby online at all.

Why does Marvel Heroes call it's self an MMO? It only has 50-100 players on a server at one time. It's because it has persistant worlds, more like cities. You name me a game that has a persistant world, meaning even if a player isn't in the game, the world still exists. That doesn't consider it's self an MMO that has at least 30-100 players on a server. Speaking of Marvel Heroes closed beta starts in 9 mins. :)

we arent talking about marvel heroes...we are talking about War Z. Always with the misdirection defenses when put on the spot.
