War Z activasion "error" (?!?!?!)

Yesterday I bought the fully legal version of The War Z on Steam, installed it over night and now I´m sitting here and thinking: ♥♥♥♥♥?!?!?!?!? So when I started it for first time, It launched the updater, then it told me an "error" (cannot tell it to ya because i clicked it away before i read it..mah bad, u know?!). When i closed the "error" notification, a new tab opened where i was able to log into my account (do not have any kinda account) or to register....So i tried to register! It told me I had to register me with a serial number....That the first time I just thought: ♥♥♥♥♥?!?!?!?!?!?. I watched into my E-Mail account: No serial number. I checked on the internet if there was a solution: In a forum a guy told them to use a page, which is not available for me ( Windows 7, Internet Explorer "no internet connection available" tab, so you know what it looks like). So I gave up and closed the "register your game" tab on Steam. 10 Minutes later i restarted War Z, It launched the updater..It took 10 tries to tell me I should check if I have a stable internet connection (checked!!! no errors), I should check if i don´t had activated any proxys (Hotspotshield, VPN autoconnect= offline) and I should check if there´s nothing blocked by my firewall (I don´t turn off anything usefull since I had the legendary UKASH VIRUS[!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] on my Computer). I closed the error tab and then, Steam switched from "in-Game" (green) to "online" (blue) and nothing happened....I tried this procedure for 3 times and now, I´m ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed!!! I looked if there was a "activasion key on steam (right mouse click on game) but there was no activasion key, BUT(!!!) If i look on properties and DLC´s, It tells me that i have an activasion key as DLC!!!......♥♥♥♥♥?!?!?!?!?!?!? Either I´m too silly for anything or Steam and The War Z hate german mates!!! So I bought this bunch of crap for 15 euros, and I cannot activate it?!?!?!? Thanks to Steam and War Z, U guys made my day!!!!

oh okay..thank ya....gonna try this when i have nervs for it....heard that the servers are down so i think that why im unable to start the game!! many of them told us that they have the same problem with starting the updater!!....ohh and i realize that there´re hearts in my post...so it looks like a censorship, it really means "f*cking", okay? Oh and I´m not here to insult Steam or War Z, but i was very disappointed in them because for 15 euros children in africa kills other people!! bad example, i know! I just wanted to know what´s the error in here!!

So I just wanted to check If my key arrived via E-Mail, but mah Dad deleted all E-Mail when I was in school xD....Do you get the key via E-Mail?!

Hi i had same problem, but i looked around and found that instead of registering for a Wa Z account it needs to link your War Z game to your steam account, to do this just type in your steam email address into the login and type your steam password into the password field. This should work for you as it did for me. Then everytime you go to play you will see "linking steam account" after this just click the PLAY BUTTON.

one other thing when you die i found that you must wait 56mins to revive / respawn unless you create 5 different characters..

Same for me about 31 minutes ago.....easy ♥♥♥♥..it just was way too hard when the server was down. It asked for the serial number...I never recieved a serial number for that?!

i have the cd key i think but it doesn't ask me for it at the login screen

yeah, that is normal! I I tried to activate it while an error (or so) was disturbing War Z......so it asked me for it (I don´t know why!)
