Steam allowing lies in the game description, yet again.
The War Z is a Survival Horror MMO that immerses players in a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic world in which a viral outbreak has decimated the human population leaving in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportion.

A Huge Persistent World: The War Z is an nonlinear open world game
Explore, Scavenge, Kill, Survive: You are one of the few survivors and must navigate the desolate countryside exploring cities and scavenging for items
Group with other players to increase your chances of survival
No Classes, No Levels, No Caps: Create your own survival campaign
Key Features
Two modes of Play: Normal and Hardcore
Combination of First-Person and Third Person Perspectives
Meld of PVE (Player versus Environment) and PVP (Player versus Player)
Safe Settlements where Players can access their global inventory
Create your own Clans
Reputation system – Choose to become a lawman or bandit
Leave Messages for friends in the game world with a time capsule
Immersive environment with unique and spine chilling sound effects
Huge variation of melee and firearm weapon types

The Warz is not a persistant world, in fact things barely persist in the 'world' for more than 24 hours. It is a collection of several hundred 'worlds' if you will, none of them tie together in any way except for your items. Nothing persists, except for your items.

There is no 'surviving' as everything you need to survive can be purchased with real money. Food and water bought outside of the game makes that a lie.

There are not '2 modes of play' There is one mode of play. Hardcore is no different than normal mode, in any way shape or form. Oh, you need to delete the character? You play on the same servers as everyone else, but if you die you have to delete your character. Doesn't mean a damn thing because experience means nothing.

Combination of first and 3rd person.. really.. that's a key feature? Well.. I guess for Hammerpoint it is.

You still cannot access your inventory from 'safe settlements' without leaving the game itself. They are also not safe, as the second you step out you are instantly killed by a hacker. You can argue "go to a low pop server and leave".. which again defeats the entire purpose of a survival game.

Yea..you can leave messages for friends and litter the world with these time capsules nobody bothers to read because 90% of them are filled with rubbish. Also not a key feature.

Chilling sound effects? Oh , like the crickets that never ♥♥♥♥ing stop and there is no way to turn the sound down? How about where a sidewalk sounds like metal grating.. yes, CHILLING that a game was allowed on this service like it is. That's the only scary ♥♥♥♥ing thing about this game.

Enjoy your "no hidden fees" as you are forced to pay in to their clan system, and their private servers as any public ones are full of hackers.

Also enjoy being banned for looting! Yes, it has now been proven by a player that has 0 player kills that you can be banned for only looting items and never encountering another player, while playing on private servers.

When will someone step up and do the right thing?

Don't be a jerk. There are plenty of VERY crappy games on Steam. Just because this one's title is painfully close to "WarZ" doesn't make it somehow special. So it sucks...dont buy it or get a refund. Talk bad about the game. Steam is just a store and some people actually like this game and want to pay money for it (not sure why. lol)

I can't think of any other game on Steam where you are banned for playing the game.

Huge in comparison too? It's a terrible game, no denying that. Just don't buy it and get off your internet high horse just because you know when a game is bad.

Remove the pictures. They are obviously fake, I can confirm that as someone who plays the game.

The biggest problem here isn't the quality, it's because what they're selling is different to what you get.

If a supermarket was selling a product advertised as "beef" and it was discovered that it actually contained horse, I would expecte the supermarket to stop selling the product immediately (even if the product was not their own). I expect the same from Steam.

Sure, if they want to relabel it as "beef and horse" then the supermarket should be able to sell it (I'm ignoring the quality guidlines in place for meat here), but trying to sell it as "beef" again is just not allowed.

STEAM is not "just a store". Steam was originally designed to be a content delivery and community mechanism that was supposed to make the players feel empowered. People are allowed to protest the game sale all they want, it is honestly in my opinion (as well as the vast majority of professionals amd other part time gamers) a flaming lump. There is no worthwhile content, and the developers seem to not understand anything about games at all. There is no balance, no real anticheat, no "survival", and the gunplay is a solid 5/10. Im not even getting into how untrustworthy the devs are- or how the game is still missing features promised on release 3 months later.

You left out the fact that many, if not all, of the pictures are fake.

Steam is actually trying to lose its "editorial" influence sooner rather than later. Gabe Newell stated that he wants to remove the artificial bottleneck that Steam creates between content providers and consumers. It's going to require consumers to actually be, well, smart about what they choose to buy. This is much like the app stores for various mobile platforms (Android is a good model). Valve gets a cut for hosting it, but it's up to the consumers to determine what's worth buying. Malware and viruses are removed, ♥♥♥♥ty games get poor ratings. It's free market capitalism, basically.

There's a plus side to all of this, it's gotten me to check out Steams new competition over at Ubisoft.

Everything has to start somewhere. Remember when steam was just for counter strike?
