I have officially lost faith in Steam.

Chivalry was the last title I will ever purchase from Steam. To be honest I should have bought it from their website anyway, I just prefer how easy it is to do here, and not have my payment info jump around. I have 3 steam accounts with around 20 games, and this is the last straw.

You have yet again put a game on your store that has not changed since the day it was taken down. I guess now that the dust has settled it's time to cash in, huh Steam?

In fact, it is now worse than before. Hacks are free! Yes, you read that right. You can get free hacks for this game from multiple locations. Not only that, the hackers have gone so far they have found a way to spam messages ingame with their hack websites.

Congratulations for giving in to money, yet again, and not giving a flying ♥♥♥♥ about the people that use your service. You all must enjoy watching as teens throw their money at this game just to find out they have to get a refund because it's a piece of ♥♥♥♥.

Before I start saying anything, yes this is a terrible game that no-one in their right mind should buy.

Steam is actually trying to lose its "editorial" influence sooner rather than later. Gabe Newell stated that he wants to remove the artificial bottleneck that Steam creates between content providers and consumers. It's going to require consumers to actually be, well, smart about what they choose to buy. This is much like the app stores for various mobile platforms (Android is a good model). Valve gets a cut for hosting it, but it's up to the consumers to determine what's worth buying. Malware and viruses are removed, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games get poor ratings. It's free market capitalism, basically.

Yes but they should not allow false advertising on their service, I am very dissapointed and after Hammerpoints last screwup on steam I'm suprised Valve didn't keep hammerpoint as distant as possible.

If a small Indie developer pulled the same stuff hammerpoint has they would be Blacklisted from steam.

Looking at the store page I don't see any lies this time, what I do see is a metacritic rating of 23/100 and a link to the forums where people can see what this game is all about. You don't have to buy it, in fact no one has to buy it.

Gamestop and EB stock terrible terrible games on their shelves because their a store and they get a cut. Steam is a store as well. The only thing people need to do is use thier own common sense and not buy it, then no one gets hurt.

The problem with Free Market Capitalism, in it's purest form, is that it is far too open to unethical exploitation. Short-term scams become rampant, product quality suffers, and prices become unreasonably variable. There is simply too much time between a product hitting the shelf and people screaming about how awful it is, and far too little credibility given to honest people giving honest opinions because of the ease in which one can flood a forum with disinformation and outright lies in both directions.

There has to be some measure of oversight on what products are being sold by a distributer. A physical store in a mall does this to some degree, because returns take up time and resources to handle (and they are legally obligated to handle all returns to some degree). Steam should not be considered exempt from the same simply because it exists in virtual space. If anything, it should find some means of more closely resembling a physical store in this regard before legislation finally comes into play to obligate them to do so.

Does that mean every negative opinion should be taken as fact and must be put up on the store front? What about every positive opinion? Low Quality and Cheap as well as High Quality and Expenive so long as everything in between has a right to be on Steam, even if no one in their right mind should buy it.

If you know that it is a bad game (like we all do), why do you even care, it's not like you HAVE to buy or play it just because it's on Steam.

There are games that i would personally never want to see on steam ( a lot of indie crap) but i don't give 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ since nobody is forcing you to buy games you do not want to.

The direction Valve is going with this has me somewhat concerned. They're growing increasingly disinterested in the idea of curating what they're selling. In a way that's a good thing, faster, more open and all that, but ultimately it means I have less trust in the quality and integrity of what's on sale. Don't exactly want the War Z's of the world to proliferate on here.

Ever heard of Steam Greenlight? Hint: This game wasn't on that. And as you can see allowing a controversial game like this on Steam without the Greenlight community process just hurts Valves image and the Users, because it makes it look like Valve is protecting shady devs such as these. So in the end you feel betrayed just as much as if you had bought the game and realized the state it's in vs. what was promised.

Impulse buyers have to change their derpy ways - DO NOT press the buy button until you have done your research and know 100% what you are paying for.

Long gone are the days of: "oh this looks cool, yeah I can run it - buy buy buy". Hell, if you want to pay for crap at least wait until it goes on sale XD
