What happens if you give them stuff? You lose it once they eventually die and/or get ambushed by other pricks.
That is why this is a glorified deathmatch with worthless zombies in it.
Actually, teaming up increases your chances of both having the necessary skills to survive (from other people) and the ability to get a better stronghold up and running (more manpower). This would also mean that the bigger your group, the better chance of scaring off scavangers/psychos away. Because who would want to mess with a big group of different skills then just some loner walking around? The more people would also mean more guns, ammo, healthcare and the much needed psycological healthcare as well. Not to mention the fact that having a larger group would also mean more chances of seeing the zombies.
Not teaming up would in a real zombie apocalypse would just be silly.
They do it. If you haven't played the game, there is a massive amounts of just walking around shooting random strangers. People bash others head in with flashlights without a single care in the world. It's deathmatch-mania in this game.
Not veryone no, just most people.
Blame the dev's. They put so little content into the game and no dedicated pve server that pvp became "The Thing To Do" because there is almost nothing else to do.
Survival gameplay is you and your fellow players against the threat of being overrun by the AI's. To actively work against other players is counter productive and leads to a death-match mentality If you want death-match you might as well just go play Unreal Tournament. If you want zombie filled death-match, doesn't the new COD have a zombie mode? I know one of the older ones does. At least there would be good models, textures, animations, a voice-chat, anti-cheat that works, etc.
Nice to know that includes half the people here...
It's pretty much what War Z has become about thanks to the complete lack of anything meaningfull to do in the game. You either loot or kill bandits and mostly both. Quite often I find that you end up playing the game someone elses way because everyone assumes your a bandit and tries to kill you or thinks yoir a friendly and tries to kill you anyway. Either way, soon as you log in, you have a target on your back.
It's the risk you take with online games.
Its the risk you take with anything that involves other people.
Just wait until in real life you dont get a promotion because someone lies about you, or you get fired because of someone else, or someone robs you.
People are people, most humans care more about themselves than others. Its how humans have survived as long as we have.
