Let's take a look at a thread that popped up. (Link)
So what do we see? The video that was shown in PAX 2012. It shows really cool scenery, ambient noises, using ingame voice chat or something and zombies with ANIMATIONS! Yes! It was that advanced in Alpha stage apparently. It looks really cool. Especially that flashlight on the gun. Yum yum.
But why wasn't all this cool stuff included in the full release? According to the official statement from RussianKaliber, it was because low end pc users would have too much trouble to run this game. Which means that Hammerpoint deliberately brought the game down to such a point, that the zombies doesn't even have animations anymore.
Am I the only one who thinks this is complete and utter baloney? If this game had been in development in YEARS, yes I said years because that is what they claimed, wouldn't this been fixed by now? They say this in their faq: "[...]by industry veterans with decades of combined game development experience
Why can't they add some simple animations then? Why can't they optimize their own game? They're veterans! How is this possible? Did everyone suddenly catch a brain virus that turned everyone into first year students and broke the game? They even went to the community and asked the users for help in what they wanted for animations...
WHEN THEY ARE VETERANS! Why, please tell me, would veterans in making games be so confused as to what kind of animations they need to implement, that they need to ask their community.
Since they're veterans, why couldn't they figure this out on their own?
Why? Just...I dont even anymore...
