WarZ devs forever lie
I took a look on their FAQ page and LIES STILL have not been changed... Arktos really needs to be put in more of a spotlight than hammerpoint is. They have all these little pop-up companies to shell for their main company. Shady business practice.

You mentioned that there will be a store or marketplace in the game. Is it micro-transaction based?
As you explore the game world, you'll find two types of currency - Dollars and Gold Coins. Both can be used for barter between players if you want or to purchase certain consumables (food, medicine, ammo) at the General Store in one of the safe settlements and in the Marketplace in the frontend. Not all items that you find in the world will be purchasable, and by no means do you need to use the store at all - everything can be found in the game world.

WRONG. You can't find GC in game yet. Apparently you can sell stem cells (that don't exist either) for it. ATM you can't find GC in game. "everything can be found in the game world." When is the last time you found one of those teddy bear backpacks or gas masks?

What is limit of players per server?
When renting a server you'll be able to choose between a predefined number of player slots. The lowest amount of players per server is 70 and the maximum is 250.

Just so wrong.

I want PAY FOR WIN! I have lots of money to spend!
Sorry pal, but this is the wrong game. Like in a real-world, post apocalyptic scenario, your money will mean much less than your natural survival skills, training and wits.

Look at the recent marketplace.. lawl

So late..... Should of been here like a month ago.... It's not pay 2 win, it's pay 2 lose. Sooner or later your going to die. And you will lose your gas mask and your teddy bear backpack.

And yet it remains an advantage the player bought. In this game about survival. That all players have already paid for. Everything about the marketplace in this game is just rotten.

I'd love to hear you argue for why it's a good thing jpate.

Hmmmm. One good thing about the marketplace....... I can't think of anything. But I also can't think of anything bad. Besides you lose your items when you die, but that's the game. Don't buy anything your gonna lose. If your bond to lose it sooner or later, don't buy it. No one is making you buy it.

Like I have said before, I have over 7k GC from buying the legendary pack. I haven't spent a dime. I play games legit. But it's MY choice. I'll probably spend it on servers or skins if they bring out new ones.

The ability to pay for items is fundamentally at odds with the core concept of a survival game.
Players pay to gain an advantage over others.
The game costs $15 yet features this F2P monetization.
Which becomes a consideration when designing the game.
Less "how do we make this game better?" and more "how do we manipulate people into giving us more money?"

It's gross and needs to get the feck out of games that aren't F2P.

But see, that's why the $15 dollars makes sense, because you can find everything in the game. Most f2p games, you can't get the best anything without paying money. For example, I play a game on my phone called Marvel War of Heroes, without buying packs, I can't get ultimate rare or legendary cards. And I have to work my ♥♥♥ off during events just to get super special rare. That's f2p and p2w.

I can't buy the best weapons in the marketplace. I find the best weapons in-game.

Yet...the fact that some things in the marketplace can´t be found in the gameworld doesn´t bother you?

Everything that matters spawns in the gameworld. I give a rats ♥♥♥ about a stuffed bear backpack.

Doesn't matter if you buy the stuff or not, the end result is the same. 2 minutes later you get shot and loose everything. Buying anything from the store is a mugs game reserved for those with more money than sense.

Exactly

@jpate,

I can care less about that stupid teddy bear backpack too, but that isn't the point. It is the WORDING. This post isn't late, i've been keeping up with everything since around November. This is just to let new people who come wandering around maybe see that the FAQ is not 100% correct, and the game is being talked up to trick them into buying it
mr bigdad Jan 24, 2013 @ 2:19am
I think its nice of people to warn us all about the bad policies from Hammerpoint and Sergey. We need to keep this stuff alive, so noone will get into this crap anymore!
Cadderley Jan 24, 2013 @ 3:02am
What worries me though is that for all their crap and lies, a lot of people still believe them and say something along the lines of "oh well, they will get it right next time" and they never do. 3 years down the line, they are still waiting for them to deliver what they said they will.
orange acid Jan 24, 2013 @ 3:21am
@mr bigdad,

We as consumers can warn all we want, but you can still try if you'd like! The reason why I've been so active with highlighing this game's negative side is because of how shady it was. The lack of information really plays on people's curiosity (which is very very shady). If the devs communitcated things better, i would just choost not to play the game. Instead, i'm here being annoying and i feel compelled to post stuff like this when i find it. :D
