2. The game is more fun in small servers anyway. Too many people and its a never ending pvp deathmatch. A good amount is 7-8, where the world feels empty and seeing someone else is cause for concern, but the maps are just too small for any of this to really matter.
3. Not sure on the validity of some of it, some people that got refunds were allegedly blacklisted by xsolla which put them on a list as an untrusted customer for other sites.. I've never heard of anything like that existing.
4.
I'll go over it, here

atm its not too lie-y, I'd go find the old store page that did blatantly lie but im too lazy
got to mention that when the store page went up, there were no 100 player servers, but they added them in response
Go look at the list of things that the devs say they are going to put in the game. Write it down somewhere, and wait a month. If any of the major things you want to see are implemented by that time, I'd say buy it.
A patch blindly adressing an issue that wasnt even there ruined the game a few days ago and so far the devs are not trying to fix it.
Starting the game right now is nothing but pointless and frustrating. You will simply be shot all day while not finding any weapon yourself. Better stay away for now.
Fixed =p
They had some screens, and it looked gorgeous.
except it'll have a lot more features
I know features are hard to imagine for people that play warz :v
god you are one of those dayzfanboiz .... are you really that simple minded or just pretending ? Dayz has no features besides looting and shooting. The vehicles in there might be called a feature but they are only there because of the large map and server admins usually take them before opening the server to the public anyways.. there is nothing in dayz that is not in warz.
Even the clan system in warz showing your clan mates in game is a feature dayz doesnt have...
WILL
Standalone will introduce a lot of things.
If it doesn't, I'll bite the bullet on it.
I don't like dayz right now for that exact reason.
quests ? how the hell do you want to add quests. Its not a real mmo.. and playing it asan mmo wont work.. what else could they add ?
This genre has nothing to add.. Everything that might seem possible is just pointless.. Skills ? Qeusts? Crafting is like the only "possible" thing (similar to burntime) but in the end crafting is pointless as well since there is nothing to craft but weapons or other fighting gear. there is no other gameplay in this genre than looting and shooting and no other stuff can or will be added to the game ever..
This is a widely repeated untruth that annoys me quite a bit. There's very little wrong with the base ArmA 2 engine; I've been a fan of the game for a long time, because I'm a military procedural geek and I enjoy milsims. ArmA 2 is a very tightly crafted, well-executed game - the reason that you see a lot of bugs, silly animations, and nonsensical issues within DayZ is because the mod attempts a lot of things that the game simply wasn't made for. The broken-bone-collision system wasn't even a thing in base ArmA 2, and animations like running unarmed are seen so infrequently in ArmA 2 that they've never really needed to be addressed. All in all, if Day Z starts running on its own engine, based on ArmA 2 but more suited for the game, it should be much better.
Anywho, I would honestly advise you not buy the game, OP. I do own it and I do play it a few times a week, but it just isn't that fun, in my opinion. Sadly, what it boils down to is taste and preference; none of us can really tell if you'll love it, because while a friend and I might enjoy the hell out of a lot of the same games, he might absolutely love The War Z while I only play it to occasionally pass time. The only advice that I CAN give you is to wait until some of the current horrendous PR and controversy blows past, see if the game is still standing and improving, and if it is, give it a go.
To not derail the thread too much: there are tons of lets plays on youtube that show the gameplay of warz with all its ups and downs..a good way to make your own opinion before listenting to players who are most likely biased in one way or the other.
