My evaluation of The War Z

First off I've never played the game but really want to.
This is based on other's comments and videos.
I like reading what everybody thinks.
So give me your opinions and tell me if anything is invalid

The Bad:
People say the game was rushed and it's just a copy of Day Z
Its full of annoying bugs and glitches
You will definately encounter annoying hackers at some point
The Marketplace is a scam because you lose your stuff when you die
Personally I would like a main story instead of only player made missions
Losing stuff when you die
When you die on normal you have to wait an hour to play that character again, there should be like an easy mode that gets rid of waiting altogether.
No vehicles

Counter to The Bad:

How much is the average item in The Marketplace?
I'd imagine you spend 5 bucks buying what you need, so now you can't pay the bills?
When it comes to dieing, there has to be some sort of punishment. Its not like Halo or Skyrim where you can go back to a different checkpoint or save as a punishment.

The Good:
It's a cheap zombie game. Only 15 bucks I believe.
It's a game, not an add-on like Day Z
(So you dont have to download a game you won't play just to play the add-on)
1st/3rd person are both optional
It's multiplayer, free rome game (Not like L4D or Walking Dead)
You can fight OR flight (In some games you HAVE to fight, others you HAVE to flight)
ADS (I hate games where you just zoom in when you aim, i prefer aiming down my sights)

Everything has bugs and glitches, some more than others, Especially War Z, and especially not games that consider themselves out of Beta, like War Z.
Hackers are almost everywhere, even in Day Z, which is also on steam. Not to the same extent. DayZ is also not on Steam. It is a mod.
You are not forced to buy at The Marketplace, You're not forced to buy the game, either. That doesn't stop it from being a scam.

How much is the average item in The Marketplace? Enough that I could buy a soda or something and actually enjoy myself for a few minutes, which is more than WarZ can provide.
I'd imagine you spend 5 bucks buying what you need, so now you can't pay the bills? Not everyone is wealthy enough to waste money on microtransactions.

Which is why there should be no cash shop in any way. Let them discover their items for themselves rather than just being able to buy backpacks/medkits to skip entire steps in the 'scavenging' game.

It's a game, not an add-on like Day Z [It's actually more or less a direct mod of War Inc.]
(So you dont have to download a game you won't play just to play the add-on) [Arma 2 is a far more fun game than War Inc, I suggest trying it. Saying no one will play it is generalizing.]
1st/3rd person are both optional [Same in DayZ, not really a pro in this case. DayZ even has servers that lock third person for people who want 100% immersion.]

AMAZING FEATURE, I WISH MORE GAMES HAD THE CHOICE BETWEEN FIRST AND THIRD PERSON

I will grant that ironsights are the superior option in a game like this, due to the slower pace of the action. However, that same fact makes it being based off of War Inc that much more silly, considering War Inc is a fast paced shooter and this is a slow paced shooter.

Trust me, I've played well enough of this game to never have seen a vehicle that's drivable. Mind pointing to one of those videos?

Again it's an evaluation based on what i have seen in these forums. I want to understand the game and if I have everything above correct before I buy the game

Don't believe the screenshots then; they're all staged and fake. None of them have anything that's doable in the game. Now, while other games do this sometimes too, it's usually rather rare to have things like features not included in the game, places that aren't in the game period, character models and animations that aren't used, etc.

I personally like the genre. Dayz or Warz. A game has never had my heart pumping from a game like this genre does. Last time I remember feeling like this playing a game, I was playing Resident Evil for the first time on PS. Remember first time walking down the hallway and the dogs jump in from the window. OMFG. I'll never forget that.

but if you want to play Day Z you need to buy more than just ARMA 2. ARMA 2 CO is 17.99 on steam right now and has gone as low as 14.99 at various times (I got it for that price from amazon about half a year back)

It's up to you to make an educated decision based on all the research that's available; see what the game's like, what features they promise(and will never deliver), and how they've dealt with their playerbase (check out that warz tumblr posted up there).
