World War Z
What's the deal with the names being that close. And I only ask because the trailer was on TV and never heard of it before. But when I saw it and the name I thought of War Z, not good.

Complete coincidence. World War Z (the film) is based on a novel published in 2006; The War Z's name is a combination of Arktos Entertainment Group's only other "successful" game, "War, Inc." and the letter Z (for 'zombie,' obviously).

Funnily enough, the similarities are enough to constitute a trademark claim and lawsuit on the part of Paramount Pictures, so AEG is definitely going to lose the name "The War Z," Which I find hilarious.

Movie not yet released, so how do you know how good it will be?

I'm going to see the movie when it comes out.
Very simple: Running Zombies. Not that I don´t like them, but this is the opposite of the zombies in the book. Also the book was a combination of different single stories of survivors and their view on what happend. This Movie looks like it´s mainly from the perspektive of one guy and his family.

I just doubt that this movie will be able to deliver the same feeling as the book. But I advise everybody to read the book and then see the trailer again and decide.

I haven't even read the novel and it seems to me that the film is just piggybacking off of the successful name of the novel, rather than trying to faithfully adapt it.

The book is awesome. Based on interviews of survivors taken place ten years after the apocalypse was contained.

the movie turned it into a "fast zombie" action fest that is absolutely nothing like the book....it may be an entertaining flick when it releases...but it's nothing like what Max Brooks originally wrote..

I saw that film on IMDB, Brad pitt if i remember right? From what i saw of it, it was more or less a clone. It struck me as being an "I Am Legend" style film, and there's quite a few of these "OMG!! The human race has been wiped out or transformed into brain sucking zombies, lets find a cure quick since I'm the last scientist in existance and LUCKILY AND COINCIDENTALLY for me, my blood holds the secret to a cure" style films out there.

another thing awesome about World War Z is the audio book.

it has a lot of big name voice acting on it, Mark Hammill is cool in it, he's one of the battle of Yonkers soldier survivors...really cool.
