Infestation: Survivor Stories 2020
I think you guys are being a little rash on the game, so I made a review
I'm not trying to say the game doesn't have alot of shadyness revolving around the politics or things coming out of the news but I think the game itself is being received much worse than it deserves. So I made a review where I try to be fair to the game from an unbiased standpoint, to see how bad it fares as a game itself.

I really hate the game but that's just an opinion.
That the devs lied to us is a fact.
It really isn't the game that people are upset about. It's the people who run it, and the things they've done; lied to their playerbase, stolen copyrighted material from multiple sources, and consistently insulted their playerbase using profane terms, as well as randomly banning players and deleting their threads, refusing refunds, etc..

The game isn't as big of a deal, despite the fact that it's an obvious cashgrab scam due to the ingame market alone.
We aren't mad at the game. Had we been mad at the game we would have simply said that it was a bad game, and a mistake to all who bought it. However, Hammerpoint is SCAMMING AND LIEING TO US AND THIS IS UNEXCUSABLE. If this game is not compared to Dayz, which is much better, it could even be called "good." But the fact that they are lieing to and blackmailing people who simply express themselves is not acceptable, and I believe that the community will run this company into the ground.

I still don't see the big flip about that, I can understand if people thought they were buying a full release but for anyone who researched the slightest beyond the original steam details page they'd know its more of a seed game. Miscommunication or not, the page is fixed now and the lie is over and people who bought on steam can get their money back so I don't see the problem.

January is make or break month for them. I guarantee they will not fulfill on their promises, and droves of people will quit, while DayZ Standalone flourishes.

Do you think it is morally justifiable for a company who want's and need's our money to intentionally misslead us or like to us about the product they are selling and how it's marketted?

Honesty used to be a virtue, it shouldn't be left down to the customer to research a product. Appart from which, any corporate will tell you that the item is made from gold until you buy it and find out that it is infact gold plated ♥♥♥♥♥.

They've been a lot more regular with patches than I expected them to be given the negative feedback. I don't have anywhere near a full faith but they've been surprising me so far.

They said it was miscommunication between them and their marketers, and like I said, whether true or not the FACT is that the store page has been corrected and everyone on steam has their refunds. Morally speaking that means they're back at ground zero.

I don't see that as a surprise tbh considering how many problems they have had and it's not neccessarily improving their game or their customer satisfaction/support for the product that they are hoping to sell, not just that but it also looks like we are weeks away from a Day Z standalone being released, they will want to have things sorted by the time that hits. The patches probably keep switching the re-spawn timer round from 1 hour to 4 hours and then back again :P

Not in my book, once a liar always a liar, a leaopard doesn't change it's spots It's not just the store page, it's copying images from other games, its copyright violations in that they don't own the War Z trade mark. It's a plethora of different issues.

There are still false claims everywhere. Many things they never corrected. The screenshots are still not things that can exist in-game, yet.

Actually they have been improving the game by fixing a few bugs with those patches and the like. I'm pretty positive zombies couldn't get onto cars before either :P. I've played enough to know its not just jumping between 1 to 4 hour respawn timer, I hope you don't actually believe what you said there :/.

Issues that in no way effect the gameplay don't concern me as long as it works good and its fun

Have you never seen a game that used promotional images before that wern't from ingame? All you guys are acting like this is the only game thats ever exaggerated the truth on their store page.

Aside from the developers being extremely shady from time to time, the game itself is pretty fun. I myself have clocked 50+ hours on it. The survival aspect of the game feels heavy at first, but as you learn the hot-spots for items it becomes a bit easier. The real threat that emerges is the PvP aspect of the game, which is addicting as hell. There is some weight associated with death in the game. It's certainly not Call of Duty like so many haters have labeled it. If you die, you wait an hour and loose all your gear. Its a severe consequence, but forces you and others in the community to play tactically. The only real complaint I have is hackers. They are pests in the community, that could lead to the downfall of the game. I think everyone should at least give the game a chance. It's cheap, and its a ton of fun.

And lets be honest. False advertising? The CoD franchise has mastered it to the point where it's entire audience doesn't even realize it. They keep releasing games with "New Features" and Ground breaking advances in game play, but how true is that? They have hardly changed since the first Modern Warfare Release. Your money is going to liars and thieves regardless guys. Some have just mastered the art of deception better then others.

Give the game a chance, and don't hate before you give it an honest, open minded try.
