That the devs lied to us is a fact.
The game isn't as big of a deal, despite the fact that it's an obvious cashgrab scam due to the ingame market alone.
January is make or break month for them. I guarantee they will not fulfill on their promises, and droves of people will quit, while DayZ Standalone flourishes.
Do you think it is morally justifiable for a company who want's and need's our money to intentionally misslead us or like to us about the product they are selling and how it's marketted?
Honesty used to be a virtue, it shouldn't be left down to the customer to research a product. Appart from which, any corporate will tell you that the item is made from gold until you buy it and find out that it is infact gold plated ♥♥♥♥♥.
They've been a lot more regular with patches than I expected them to be given the negative feedback. I don't have anywhere near a full faith but they've been surprising me so far.
They said it was miscommunication between them and their marketers, and like I said, whether true or not the FACT is that the store page has been corrected and everyone on steam has their refunds. Morally speaking that means they're back at ground zero.
I don't see that as a surprise tbh considering how many problems they have had and it's not neccessarily improving their game or their customer satisfaction/support for the product that they are hoping to sell, not just that but it also looks like we are weeks away from a Day Z standalone being released, they will want to have things sorted by the time that hits. The patches probably keep switching the re-spawn timer round from 1 hour to 4 hours and then back again :P
Not in my book, once a liar always a liar, a leaopard doesn't change it's spots It's not just the store page, it's copying images from other games, its copyright violations in that they don't own the War Z trade mark. It's a plethora of different issues.
There are still false claims everywhere. Many things they never corrected. The screenshots are still not things that can exist in-game, yet.
Actually they have been improving the game by fixing a few bugs with those patches and the like. I'm pretty positive zombies couldn't get onto cars before either :P. I've played enough to know its not just jumping between 1 to 4 hour respawn timer, I hope you don't actually believe what you said there :/.
Issues that in no way effect the gameplay don't concern me as long as it works good and its fun
Have you never seen a game that used promotional images before that wern't from ingame? All you guys are acting like this is the only game thats ever exaggerated the truth on their store page.
Can you show us another one on the steam page? I haven't looked, i'll need to google it later.
And lets be honest. False advertising? The CoD franchise has mastered it to the point where it's entire audience doesn't even realize it. They keep releasing games with "New Features" and Ground breaking advances in game play, but how true is that? They have hardly changed since the first Modern Warfare Release. Your money is going to liars and thieves regardless guys. Some have just mastered the art of deception better then others.
Give the game a chance, and don't hate before you give it an honest, open minded try.
