False Advertising

Now Hammerpoint is being accused of false advertising and defrauding customers; and while these allegations are often leveled at games for the pithiest of reasons, this appears to be a case where the complaints are well founded.

The original store page for the game on Steam listed a number of features that were not included in the game, including multiple maps of massive scale, ranging from 100 to 400 square kilometers. It listed servers with “up to 100 players.”

Isn't that an actual feature though? Also why does your post have nothing to do with the thread.

They have them now, yes.
When the Steam page was put up, they didn't.

Also being a bandit is the only thing to do in this game. DayZ has the same problem.

I strongly disagree, but being a bandit is the only thing that the game is currently structured for you to do. I personally don't play as a bandit in War Z.

I've got 10 AA-12s in my GI, what the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to do with them?
Kill zombies that are no threat to me, ever?
I don't understand why these games aren't built for PvE first. Give us a way to build a base and then have zombies attack it, ♥♥♥♥. Some unprovoked aggro. God darm is that so hard?
♥♥♥♥, AA-12s drop like candy for me for some reason.

Just because you aren't a bandit doesn't mean you have to PvE.

Because they don't make as much money off pve players. They only make money through selling items off their shop and private server rentals when they become available. The way they make money is to sell you items that are scarce in the game world like food and water. You don't only have to be killed by a player with a gun to die. When you've spent days stockpilling your gear, it's unlikely that you are going to let your toon die from dehydration or hunger especially when every one in the game world is all looking for the same thing. When your health/water drops too low and you can't find or trade any in game, hey you can always buy it from the store and if you are too affriad to buy anything cos you think you are going to be killed, hey, you can rent a server for a few $$$'s a month. After all, business sense is that private server rentals will provide a secure pve environment free from bandits and hackers for people who don't want or don't like pvp result is that you get a pve game world with no pvp content which wouldn't be as profitable.

What are you going to do, kill only bandits?
You don't know if someone's a bandit until the YER DEAD screen pops up.

They've already stated that there won't be item drops in private servers. They don't want people stockpiling.

so pretty much the only reason to rent a server is for RP?

I mean, you can already farm now. It'd just take out the danger, I guess.

What do you mean by that? That there won't be any loot in the game or that you will keep items when you are killed?
So by that rational, the price of the game if you want to protect yourself just wen't up from $15 to like $15 one off and then a $10 monthly charge (for arguments sake)? Awesome lol, if i was a shareholder in hammerpoint, I'd be running for the hills now.

Supposedly, there will no longer be items that spawn into set locations in the game. That said, you will still lose your items when killed (to my knowledge.)

That has not been my experience. Once the other player starts to shoot at you.. you get to kill them because they are a bandit. You can also play this game with a friend (in fact, I would highly recommend it).

The majority of people that have shot at me aimbotted, giving me no chance to react.

I have played with a friend, we were having a firefight only to have someone spawn in right behind our opfor and ruin the only fun(fun we can easily reproduce in any other shooter.) we were having in all that those hours of playing.

It didn't at the time of publication of the Steam page. Those servers were added in response. It is not a lie, it is just no longer accurate.
