Damn, I'm glad I bought Dear Esther ten times instead of buying WarZ.

.
I'm not joking. I bought Dear Esther ten times.
Like the OP stated, I to have been killed by hackers, bandits, the occasional bad choice and eaten by zombies, and it is that much more of a challenege to get back in. I haven't had a game get my heart racing and creep into my every waking thought like this game has. I know there are many haters, and many of those haters haven't even played the game or do not understand the genre. Hammerpoint made some mistakes, and I don't blame people if they got into something they were not educated on. But for those that haven't tried or have been on the fence. Be patient, this genre and WarZ, are new and only getting better. IF you want to find faults you will find them with pretty much any company or game, I have been a gamer for over 20 years and have seen many good/bad/ugly games come and go. This is a good game, it is growing and improving, and most of all patients is a virtue. If you have it, then this game and others like it to come, will improve and be well worth the $15, 20, 30 50 whatever price it goes to.
One parting word of advice if anyone made it this long in my post, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Unless you have actually tried the game and understand its history, there is a huge amount of tainted and misinformation out there. Mistakes were made, they have owned those mistakes. They have a plan for the future and I am excited to see what they will be adding next.
"If something is preceived to be real. It will be real in its' consequences."
When they never came the game became boring and awful to play. There's no purpose to the game whatsoever and it just became an exercise in patience trying to deal with all the bugs, flaws and poor game design. Oh, and missing features.
The gaming sucking is the least of the reasons to despise it however. The actions of the dev team, the amount of shady companies tied to this product, the community management, constant lies, fraudulent business practices, abandonment of War Inc, reused assets, past ventures & inability to code or create even the simplest of resources stand much higher on my list.
Even if the game were good I would still do my best to turn people away from this product just to make the statement that scamming is unacceptable and won't go unpunished.
You say dont believe everything on the internet unless you have tried the game and understand it's history..... well my friend I 'have' in fact played the game, heck I had over five hours into it before I got my refund. And I very well understand the history, I am informed about nearly everything that has been happening over the past months.
and by the way, history isnt looking too good for Sergeys cash grab called the War Z.....but history also shows as PT Barnum once said " There is a sucker born every minute" ... and you my friends who are willingly giving this crook money are those 'suckers'.
Literally false advertising. And then the guy has the gall to claim there were no lies. That a vocal minority misread. Zero responsibility. They released a patch which increased the respawn timer, introduced a "pay to respawn" feature and changed the ToS to disallow refunds. Examples, top of an iceberg. It's like...unbelievable, indefensible, irredeemable infractions. Many and severe. The major one being actually illegal.

reeeeallly.......
do tell.
so all of the proof that is out there of the blatant and misleading fraud and scam marketing is just a lie ??
you mean Steam pulled it off and freely offered full refunds on a wrong assumption and not proof ?
wow. was I ever uninformed.
you changed my mind, I'm gonna go re-buy War Z and play forever in a hacker free environment. !
(*not)
I don't support a game that has a team known for scamming people from their money and leaving a project half finished. We have no reason to believe that Sergey and his team will finish the game and with a leader who treats the community as nothing but infants its not something I want to buy into. When you buy into a game that is unfinished to the point where hackers are ramped and the development team is doing nothing about it other than blackmailing people in order to get a list of names of people who MIGHT be hacking you're not doing too well in my book.
