Hammerpoint is planning to abandon WarZ in 2013.
http://venturebeat.com/2012/12/17/arktos-entertainment-acquires-majority-stake-in-game-studio-hammerpoint-interactive-exclusive/

In that article a nugget is buried:

"Los Angeles-based Hammerpoint will announce its next game in early 2013 and will release it in the third quarter of 2013."

As they did with WarINC they will probably move the entire team from WarZ to this new game and cease support for WarZ.

If they need to they will probably scrap the hammerpoint name, absorb everything back into Arktos and start a new company, as they did when they switched from WarINC to WarZ.

Scam is really the right word.

Never read such a ill informed report in my entire life.

I will never buy another game from anyting connected with Arktos or Sergey.

They want to become an Online Games Factory do they? I guess the plan is to Churn out brown sticky stuff like WarZ every few months, get as many unsuspecting players to buy it as they can and then move on to the next "Game" leaving the last one floating in the toilet.

These are not really games, they are desinged to leach as much money as they can, in a short a space as they can.

I mean come on, they had ingame micro payments in a Alpha stage game before half of the pomised content was in, and when they did add something like CLANS they tried to CHARGE you real money for it!

These are not Developers, these are not games, these people are an insult to every game developer and gamer since the dawn Pong!

Look at this: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/arktos-entertainment-group-leads-a-5-million-round-of-financing-investing-in-online-warmongers-llc-104776454.html

"Arktos Entertainment Group Invests in the First AAA, Free-To-Play, Online Shooter" - AAA hahaha, no

Quote:

"Online Warmongers has readily embraced the concept of a games-as-service model, something believed to be the future of games in both eastern and western markets," states Sergey Titov , CEO, Arktos Entertainment Group. "Their bold approach to game development and distribution clearly indicates that they understand the need for the implementation of new models to further the success of the industry as a whole."

Sounds familiar, huh?
http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/the-war-z/1226980p1.html

From Gamespy interview with Sergey:

GameSpy: Mostly corrected. Again, the Steam page still makes no mention of the fact that this is a "Foundation release." It is simply labeled as "The War Z."

Sergey Titov: What's difference ? I mean -- I'd love to adjust that BTW -- I just personally don't see what difference does it make? Ie -- THIS IS "THE WAR Z" game. It's not like there'll be "final release" or anything like this.

GameSpy: Then why was the press release sent out calling it a Foundation Release instead of simply a release?

"There's no such thing as 'Release' for an online game."
Sergey Titov: This is what we call it. There's no such thing as "Release" for an online game. More important - you can't just add "foundation release" or any other words to the title of the game on Steam. It's like -- The War Z is a title of the game. We can of course add VERSION in ABOUT GAME section....

GameSpy: So as far as you're concerned, The War Z is officially out of beta and fully released, correct?

Sergey Titov: Nope - there's no such thing as "fully released" for online game. As far as I'm concerned The War Z is in stage when we're ready to stop call it Beta. This is basic version - bones that we're going to add more and more "meat" - features and content in a coming months and hopefully years.

Whole thing is set up for vaporware production. People pay for shoddy alpha versions then get nickel and dimed with microtransactions. When ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ starts devs abandon the "product" and plan next scam.

yeah its all a bunch of shell llc to protect the money. the funny thing is from what i see sergey is in all of them ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limited_liability_company

"Limited liability, meaning that the owners of the LLC, called “members”, are protected from some or all liability for acts and debts of the LLC depending on state shield laws."

from wht i see the website / feature posting is OP Productions LLC

you guess it a shell. so it is technically the ones who made the fraudulent posts.

they can fold this one and protect the other shells.

notice in his interview sergey carefully said that it was miscommunitcation by the publishers with the developers

as to why things blew up and incorrect feature list

so its the publishers fault "Publisher: OP Productions" and not Developer: Hammerpoint Interactive

you see they have it all thought out.

the thing is they are all shells.

and guess what op productions also does the website, those nasty moderators everyone been hearing about...

http://justpressstart.net/war-z-developers-in-a-scandal/

sergey and friends are smart, but if they broke the law, lawyers can breach all those corporate veils.

it means nothing other than its a pain, expensive, time consuming, ect.

and guess who is head of all the shells, sergey

Sergey Titov the head of Hammerpoint, is also the head of Arktos Entertainment, OP Productions Online Warmongers, Riot Games, and War Inc, Stellar Stone (the makers of the worse video game of all time) and the list goes on... i get tired of googling, but this guy is everywhere... long history we should list all his companies and see how they have ended up...

Actually, he worked FOR Riot Games at some point:

It's like everything he tried on his own was really shady

i mean the guy is very intelligent
Master, Applied Mathemathics
Exec MBA

so he normally has technical title and executive/mangerial title in what hes involved in.

not many like him.

he can be a programmer, a manager, an executive, a financeer. ect... a one man company

ok im somewhat impressed with the guys abilities. he can walk and chew bubble gum all at the same time while singing the star spangled banner, and that is no easy feat ;)

ok i'm convinced, i'd hire him, even after big rig ;)

LOL, if you click on personal website in his linkedin profile you are sent to http://www.thewarinc.com/
And being such a big hotshot he only has 2 people recommending him? srsly? 2?!
I know how diplomas are earned in Eastern Europe and if not backed up by real facts they are useless.

"Being key team member helped company secure financing"

His entire profile is a joke. I feel like I am getting trolled on linkedin.

All companies that are his(CEO, associate, etc) have been epic failures. The only reason I think Riot has succeded is because there we other people doing the critical high-level and low-level decisions and he was only a mid level bureaucrat.

O M G if you look there are 9 comments in the thread at the time i was reading then if you take the 9 comments and add the 2 people who are defending the game you get 9/11 which means the warz is actually a cover up also if you take W A R Z and turn them into numbers you get 23, 1, 18 and 26 if you take all those numbers and add them together you get 68 if you then divide that by 4 you get 17 then take away 17 you arrive at 0, the amount of time hammerpoint interactive will spend patching this game. 0, OH MY GOD this means they have already dropped support and are now fleeing the country. We must stop them and get refunds before its too late. WE DIDN'T LISTEN!

His next game seems to be War Inc. 2.0, he announced it in the War inc. forums two months ago. The thread still exists, but I took a screencap for posterity. http://i.imgur.com/1RV9Y.jpg

Bascially we're taking what you love about War Inc, removing what you don't, adding new features and will announce new project somewhere early 2013 ( I think closer to February ). While this new project will be running under new name, you'll be able to use same login to play both War Inc and new game, use same GC account balance, etc, etc. Even more - to extent that technology and game design permits - you'll keep your INVENTORY !

How have you pulled "Hammerpoint are going to abandon WarZ in 2013" from a quote that says "Los Angeles-based Hammerpoint will announce its next game in early 2013 and will release it in the third quarter of 2013."

Clutching at straws does nothing.

Because it's the same thing they did when they stop development on War Inc.

Their list of promises has dropped down to include almost nothing in the next few months, Sergey is supposed to start work on another game in a month or two, and will probably take his whole dev staff as many of them were with him for War Inc. (RussianKaliber and Kewk for example, and possibly JohnnyTruent as well).

It just seems incredibly shady.

you should probably consider from where do you think they get the resurces and workforce when they could not even fulfill obligations on war inc? You think spaning over a 3rd game will help?
