Experience of a TWZ player
I have bought this game many months ago from the official site, when it was in Alpha.
Now what I think about the game is: It's good, playable, it has a lot of bug and problems, but if you like the genre go get it from the dev's website.
Clearly it's too buggy and incomplete to be on Steam, it was a huge mistake to put it on here at this stage.
Moreover the Devs are idiots about advertising and public relations, really. That was clearly false advertising, and Steam made a good move removing it from the store.
The fact is: they're trying to make a good game, and they're working on it, and they have a lot of good ideas. They needed Steam's VAC system for the hackers, but they have to resolve different problems before Steam can support the game.
There are lots of DayZ fanboys, unsatisfied players, and simply people that love to jump all over the game just because everyone is doing it, that will say that the game is rubbish.
Just listen to them, and then go listen other opinions. Make sure you know what you will find in-game, and make your decision.
This is my opinion.
English is not my native language, so eventually sorry for my mistakes.

There are far less DayZ fanboys than any of you think there are. In fact, they are pretty much nonexistent around here, because they are off actually playing their game or staying on their forums.

In the first weeks mainly bug fixes and different updates for stabilization. After that changing in the spawn rate, different times, and introduction of features as more playable characters, More weapons, Safe Zones, Clans, More servers, 100 people servers and a bunch of ban for spawn killers and hackers (not very effective anyway). Nothing more than normal "version 1.0" features anyway.

Partly right, but quitessentially fanboy don't stay in their forums, they spread their opinion everywhere, even here on steam, anyway there are the other two categories metioned in my post.

Unsatisfied players is okay. Generally people only bandwagon if there is a substantiated reason to, as there is with War Z (MORE than enough evidence behind bad business practice).

Though you can make a well enough opinion about a game just from gameplay videos and reviews, I don't find that as good as actually playing it. But generally here the point isn't the quality of the game, but the quality of the developers.

It could be the most quality game in the world, but buying it is supporting scamming and just the WORST public relations I've seen in ages, which is unacceptable. People get up in arms about this because they want to defend their hobby, which should have some measure of honor. You see people ignorantly defending these developers who have done nothing to make themselves look good except making a game you happen to like, so people get uppity about that and try to correct them, but they take it as a personal attack against their opinion and bite back.

People hate Peter Molyneux too, for lying over and over and over. And what can he do now? Like, nothing. Make more ♥♥♥♥ty Fable games that just get worse and worse.

The game isn't the problem, the devs are. This game could be very good if there wouldn't be Titov (seriously, look at his games he was involved) and Hammerpoint.

The most important categorie (actually the majority): people that are ♥♥♥♥ed because of all the bucked up stuff Sergey and his dev team did. They're just downright unprofessional. The hate is not about the game itself, most people don't even care about it, the guys behind it are the big problem here. And honestly...they deserve it.

You're right about this absolutely. I've written in the post that devs are total idiots about marketing and what they have done to the players' community is unacceptable.
I just wish this won't destroy the game completely because it is a good game (as a growing project).

A few key people need to be kicked out of the team, but unfortunately, they are too proud for that to happen, and their employees seem to be too whipped.

It could be a good less milsim-ish alternative to DayZ, a little more user friendly, but it's going to be abandoned soon.
