Using movie-math theory as an indicator of game value
(this does relate to War Z, I promise)

Entertainment costs money, and time is money... therefore all entertainment can be expressed as an hourly equivalent.

Let me illustrate... renting a move is about $5, and a movie is roughly 2 hours long, therefore a movie-hour is worth $2.50. To obtain movie-hour parity for your typical $15 game it must provide 6 hours of fun (6 x $2.50 = $15).

If you enjoyed War Z for 6 hours, then you obtained Movie-hour equivalency and did ok.

Casual readers of fantasy novels can spend 10 - 20 hours per novel. A used novel might cost you $5, so a novel-hour is worth $0.33.

If you enjoyed War Z for 45 hours, then you obtained Novel-hour equivalency and did quite well!

However, many of you played War Z for only a few minutes before no longer having fun... so what entertainment equivalency did you obtain?

$15 for .25 hours is worth $60 per hour. Therefore if you only played War Z for 15 minutes then you obtained Cheap-Hooker-Hour equivalency. Not sure why you're complaining though, because the end result was the same.... you got ****ed.

You're welcome.

I enjoy this game. I got my "novel-hour" money or whatever out of it, even when I spent $30.

You see, what is wrong with your math is that, you are RENTING a movie. When playing games on the PC, you can only BUY them.

Renting=/=Buying

A full retail movie is anywhere from $10-$30 and even then, you can't INTERACT with the movie, you can't MODIFY or change values of the movie to present something else, like Skyrim has mods and you can modify it to add whatever type of content you can make.

Try harder next time bud.

Or I can buy Trackmania United for $20 and play it for 82 hours, or $.24 per hour.

Renting makes no difference... it's the total time of entertainment you enjoy that matters in the end.
