Steam is just the platform where you probably bought the game, so sadly enough they can't help you.
You fell for the scam despite of all the warnings all over the internet and on this forum.
And the devs really couldn't care less, so take your loss and move on. Nothing left to do about it anyway.
It's just the way their business plan works. You buy a lot of GC to play the game, you get killed ( probably by a hacker / cheater ) and lose everything. Just read the forums and you'll see this happens to a lot of people and the next step if you complain to much is probably a ban....

He is correct about steam really having their hands tied with stuff you bought in game. How ever, people saying "this game is a scam", "its full of hackers", "and the devs dont care" is just absurd. Gaming companies dont market games they expect to fail, investors would not let them fail or they would stop investing, steam would not keep a "scam" running on their platform, and GC is not needed to enjoy the game. Everything you can buy with GC is obtainable in the game. True pay to wins are games that make you buy ♥♥♥♥ that is not dropped or that is so unattainable by "non-hardcore" players that it needs to be purchased.

You have several facts wrong. The game IS full of hackers, the only investor they had is Sergey's own company, and not everything in the market (always) spawns in the game.

While I agree with you that game companies don't usually market games they expect to fail, you're just making a broad assumption in the case of this company. They already did this same thing with War Inc.

Again steam is not going to support a "scam", not every time someone kills you its a hacker, and i have picked up everything you can buy in the store worth a ♥♥♥♥.... Its no a broad assumption, his investment or not, no one is going to throw money at a failure..... this is the same BS every "sand box" company goes through, talk a look at darkfall...... same ♥♥♥♥ different boat. And it will either kill them or they will appeal to the mass community and trash what little of a different type game they have to make the whiners happy. 70% of the posts on steam about this game are people crying about dying to a hacker. Are all of them just whiners? naaa there are surly some truth to a few, but the vast majority are just baddies that cant handle the fact that someone could possibly be better than they are at anything.

you have played 25 hours.. I highly doubt you picked up all those attachments you can buy only in the market place. and its also funny, your calling ppl dieing just crying hacker for no reason, mean while you were/ still are a hacker yourself with that VAC ban on your account....

You can be vac banned for things other than hacks just fyi.... mine since you wanna point that out was for scripts not hacks. And you dont need attachments to be good. I was talking about ♥♥♥♥ that matters.
ChiGoku May 16, 2013 @ 1:35pm
"i have picked up everything you can buy in the store" so then your just lieing to justify something??? and scripting is as bad as hacking, gg.

scripts are nothing like hacks. you should learn what the difference is.

And perhaps i should have said everything of importance.

Actually, this game was removed from Steam supposedly because players complained. They've let it back on - but without providing any reasoning. And players are having the same issues - this game sounds as if it's just not well managed by the company behind it, and there is a lack of customer support.

Valve has made an effort to decrease the curating of what gets put on the shelf and transferring that responsibility to consumers. It seems like Valve is only able to tell if a product's rotten if there's enough of a community outcry. As was the case with The War Z, the only game ever to get pulled from sale, as far as I'm aware.

Nowadays the product itself may be...I don't know, I'd say operational but it's currently not been for about a week. When it works it's not as blatantly janky and unfinished as it used to be, I guess. But more importantly, the store description no longer contains false advertising. It's no longer a blatant scam that affects every single Steam user. Whatever wrongdoings Hammerpoint is guilty of these days, it does not leave a big enough impact for Steam to react.

Hammerpoint very obviously does not care. They've displayed this on a consistent and frequent basis. From the moment Hammerpoint lied in the store description and Sergey then blamed users for misreading, to right now, where users are asking for compensation for renting servers that are inaccessible and being ignored by Hammerpoint and its Community Manager who only pops up to say "taking the servers down immediately to fix issues" (which don't seem to actually get fixed) and then leaves.

Or were you referring to the idea of caring about creating a quality game?
This[www.metacritic.com] is what Hammerpoint considered a game ready for release.
This[www.eurogamer.net] is Sergey Titov later admitting the critics were right.
This[forums.playwarz.com] is Hammerpoint fixing a tree climbing glitch that apparently had been an issue since the game's release(?).
This[forums.playwarz.com] is Hammerpoint fixing the glitches their glitch fix caused.
This is Sergey Titov saying
If I had a dollar every time people asked me why the War Z is not a free to play I wouldn't have developed the War Z at all

Saying it's absurd to claim Hammerpoint does not care is absolutely bizarre.
Individual employees might care but Hammerpoint as a corporate entity certainly doesn't.
