it is a bad game, period. A bad game built on the shell of another bad game with a bunch of stolen and/or shoddy produced resources thrown in, alongside a racketeering scam for a business model.
they have never gained an edge against hackers in their engine...it is an unsecured mess.... War Z will never be a satisfactorily functioning game.
it is a shame that people are still falling for the misleading marketing.
What's so good about the game? I played 2-3 hours before I got my refound and during those hours, I saw absolutely nothing that was good about it.
The buildings are vacant and completely square. I've built sandcastles with more variation in them. The zombies keep their stiff arms straight down and run at you. How was I supposed to feel immersed when they do this? Hitting them puts them in some trance-like state where you can't get damaged. Half of the buildings you find are boarded up and unavailable to go inside which means exploration is thrown out the window. I mean, they call the game a "Zombie Survival MMO". I at least expect some sort of freaking exploration. Not running around the square, ugly textured buildings with a few assorted things to loot.
And the worst part is that because of the hackers, everyone keeps saying: "Go to low populated servers". Okay? So then what is the point of calling your game an MMO? All the MMO's I've played involve lots of people in the same area. Not joining a server in which there are 17 people on. Running around in a huge empty map isn't my idea of fun, especially when the game is an MMO.
I mean, what left is there? The PVP? Znooore fest. You can get a better experience playing CS 1.5/CSS/CSGO, at least those game requires a good tactical understanding and how the weapons behave.
Thousands agree with me as well pal. Check PC Gamer, Eurogamer and pretty much the thousands who voted this game a 0 or 1 on Metacritic. Don't forget the Legends profiles on the official forums who bash this game continously. Several high profile people in the forums have turned around and now hate the game and the developers for what they do. So yeah...
Most of the buildings I came across were either blocked off (The small place with a post office) or empty and boring (The biggest city in the map). Don't forget the unbelivably dull farm/ranch thing on top of the mountain. As well as the small town up north with a prison. Were I and a guy I teamed up with was promptly assassinated by a high powered rifle from someone I couldn't see.
I played long enough and if a game can't hold up a single player trying to play it, how on earth will it stand the test of time? There is literally nothing to do except farm weapons, medicals and ammo. Then go to the safe zone (of which there are countless killers) and hopefully not get killed, drop your stuff and rinse and repeat. Hackers are still rampant, check the official forums, because people are crying out for private servers to get away from hackers. It's not hard to see what is going on with this game.
I am always looking for a zombie survival game. I didn't really like Day Z so I've turned to The Dead Linger, Dead State and Project Zomboid instead. Both of which I have supported with my money and I hope will blossom into something big. I love zombie games but War Z was just a huge kick in my nuts.
I really wanted War Z to be a Zombie Survival game as they claimed it to be. But it was a huge waste of time and money.

That's like saying there are worse games out there like "Assassinate JFK" "SimHolocaust" and "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing" and that The War Z isn't as bad as them. Basically, what's your point? Bad games are bad.
