Does this game still suck???
Last time i played this game it didn't even compare to dayz (which isnt good either). Has it improved enough to be enjoyable?

so when was the last time you played?

game is loads of fun to play. plays, runs, looks and sounds great, not problems really to speak of. now whether you like it or not depends on what kinds of games u like.

and w regards to dayz sa... dayz sa does not even compare to warz. at warz supports many more players. warz plays, runs, looks, sounds, and feels a whole lot better than dayz sa. warz runs solid while dayz is quite buggy dayz sa is basically unfinished buggy, laggy, jerky, clunky mess at this point. giant map with little to do. you basically spawn cold wet hungry wounded in no time with little loot and fewer zombies with completely broken ai and pathing. soo you dead kos by some other teammate. at least this game you have lots of players on same map, lots of loot and lot of zombies that do work. plus this game 50% the price of dayz sa...

Is it true you have to pay to revive yourself? Just reading some other reviews that said you do but they are a couple of months old.

That has never been the case. When you die there is a 20 min respawn timer, you can ignore that timer by spending GC but there is no need to since you have 5 character slots. If you die simply jump on a different character and keep playing.

warz is pretty, buggy, alot of crashing still, new crashing issues with cars. again.. very buggy.. still same ol bugs from the very beginning in game. Still poorly optimized.

Still same ol same ol. its pretty much turned into War Inc...

Yep pretty much still sucks they do very little to fix anything i mean very little. Hell a 16 year old kid can fix bugs and do patches in a game he made better then this whole DEV team.

They did not change their name to trick anybody the changed their name cause the movie world war Z came out and they were forced to. Also although this is not the game for everybody lots can still really enjoy it.

Imagine it! would be glorious. Then once they made the loot better i would never stop :P

Short answer. Yes. Long answer. Also yes. The gameplay is broken due to a developer infatuation with pvp that goes well beyond reasonable levels, resulting in a massive pk frenzy. About 30% of the time you can expect someone to at least TRY and kill you as you come around to reach the safezone of a town, poach whatever meager items you have, and then you get to wait on a timer until that character can revive unless you pay some game currency to speed it up.

No, this is not a good game. It COULD have been a good game if the developers had focused on the zombie horror experience rather than a huge deathmatch level that just happens to have zombies in it. Of course, they also would have had to behave like proper developers and deliver a complete game rather than delay after delay with unimportant content patches that never seem to fix any of the actual problems that have plagued the game from the beginning (like someone hack shooting you through a building).

Avoid this. I also recommend you avoid their 'new' game that they have essentially abandoned this for, because their feature list is almost identical to this one and illustrates a complete lack of understanding about why this game has made them so many enemies amongst critics and players.

why avoid the game is loads of fun, plays, runs, looks and sounds great!

and you dont have to wait or pay anything you can just use another existing character or create a new

also game is not just good game but one of the greatest games on steam was on steam top 100 for well over a year and a half, very few games even make it to top 100 let alone for over a year and a half. and even now its about #100+- u see it go in and out of top 100... and this is inspite of all the negative posts coming from mostly people who dont even own or play the game... also the steam stats does not show all the people who bought the hammerpoint version, if it did it's still well withing top 100

certainly the people who bought and play it and like it would not have liked a zombie horror experiece, they bought it for the brutal pvp that is what drives it. secondly there is small group such as myself who got it for pve players on private servers. this has never been a zombie horror experience. this openworld shandbox brutal pvp survival light games who dont want to deal with dayz clunky, buggy, laggy, jerky, mess with strange gameplay mechanics / feel, strange mouse/keyboard feel cause dayz is built on military simulator

and there are not glaring issues, the game for the runs fine, it pretty solid, ive not had issues with it crashing nor with disconnects, ect and ive been using it for well over a year now.

and hackers, people cheating, glitching, exploting bugs like shooting through walls and is an issue with very game, and especially multiplayer games. its an issue with people hacking, cheating, exploting bugs, glitching, ect how do u get people to not hack, not cheat, not exploit bugs, not glitch, ect on systems that are designed to be open and controlled by the people who are hacking, chreating, exploting bugs, glitching, ect, you cant, not even on closed systems like consoles can u stop it. so hacking, glitching, exploiting bugs, cheating, ect is not going to stop for any game. every game has people using hacks, exploiting bugs, glitching, cheating, ect. every game has people that shoot through things or walk through things and cheat in other ways. its not possible to stop. this game is not more or less prone. all games equally prone to it cause its reversse engineering and injection which u cant stop and computers are designed to allow. also clipping through things and other glitching is part of gaming and nobody has a fix. every game has this problem since there is no 100% sure way to stop it since floating point nubers are only approximation and do not represent completely all valid numbers and since its not possible to test infinitive number of points to see if there is intersection or not in complex models... so there will always be holes. all games have network protocol and client and server are just programs that you can easily inject into. even with antivirus software its impossible to stop since the software that runs it all the os is designed to allow people to do things they want to do. windows does not stop people from downloading, installing and running hacks or even developing them. the apis are all public and quite easy for people who program to create things, including games and hacks... so its hopeles even the most sealed systems are hacks, just ask all those celebrities having their nude pictures plastured right now over the web or the over billion people who have had their identity stolen, hey they dont know yet that the banks have been hacked and people account info been stolen for worlds major banks. and lets not get started with health insurance company. ect... its hopeless since windows and designed for u to do things from playing a game to developing a program to bringing down major corporations like sony playstation network cause your part of infected zombie network cause your downloading and running malware infected hacks... and u certainly cant stop the people doing it cause they go nuts when u tell them to stop downloading and running hacks created using stolen source code.

and theyve not abanded this game, they did update like 2 months ago and theyve done server updates since then like other day when they installed server change that enabled zombies dropping loot that was migrated from california and they have well over a year and half, pages of patch notes with new stuff, changes, fixed. perhaps stuff that some may not like, but that many asked for. those people that like brutal pvp game that keep it up on the charts even like 2 yrs since it went alpha...

the new version is this version plus changes that they outlined that people have been asking for. when it comes out there is still this version and the new version. everybody that has this version will get the new version. its like l4d1 and l4d2. does valve still work on l4d1? not other than minor tweaks, if that. and not much for l4d2 either. same with tf1/tf2... this version is basically done. like l4d1 is done... perhaps some fix that causes crashing, but its not crashing so no need fo fix, perhaps if windows 8.3/9 changes something when it comes out they will have to release fix. same with like cities xl 2011 and cities xl 2012.

This may have been true in the first year or so of the games life but I havent seen someone trying to camp a safe zone even once since I started playing again.

and then you get to wait on a timer until that character can revive unless you pay some game currency to speed it up.
You have 5 characters, just play on one of them until the timer resets. There is zero need to pay to speed it up.

It COULD have been a good game if the developers had focused on the zombie horror experience rather than a huge deathmatch level that just happens to have zombies in it.
To be fair this is not the Developers fault, it is our fault as the players. There is absolutely nothing about the game that forces people to play as shoot on sight pvp, but that is how the players choose to go about it. And it isn't limited to this game because both the DayZ mod and Standalone are the exact same way. While I havent played the other games that are in the same genre like Nether, or Rust, or 7 Days to Die (im sure im missing some), I would be willing to bet that if they allow pvp then they suffer from the exact same mentality also. These type of sandbox games drop you into the world and you choose how to play. These could easily have turned out to be mainly PVE focused games with groups of players running around together clearing towns of zombies and rarely if ever attacking each other. But that is not how players chose to play. We chose and continue to choose to play them as PVP deathmatch games with looting and zombies thrown in. All it would take it a change in behavior on the part of the players to change this, and the flipside is that there is really nothing the Devs could do to force this change to occur. Its not the games fault, its the fault of gamers.

Of course, they also would have had to behave like proper developers and deliver a complete game rather than delay after delay with unimportant content patches that never seem to fix any of the actual problems that have plagued the game from the beginning (like someone hack shooting you through a building).
I see people say this against the game all the time and it never gets any truer. They have given players what we wanted. It was not all part of the origional launch, but they have released it over time. If you were here from the begining then you would know that the main things the players based whined and complained about and demanded were: Vehicles, Super Zombies, new maps, stronghold servers, a new anti-cheat program, and PVE only servers.
And they have given us vehicles, super zombies, new maps, stronghold servers, punkbuster (which everyone instantly began ♥♥♥♥♥ing about until they got rid of it). The only thing we really asked for that hasnt been given are PVE only servers. In addition they have given us crafting and zombies that drop loot and made everything in the marketplace buyable with in-game-dollars removing the need to spend real money on anything.

As for "fixing the hacking" please show me even one FPS that does not have a hacking problem and I will give that argument some credance. Id love to play one, but have never seen one yet.

I really enjoy the game, I have had bug issues during play, but I can't think of any game where this is not the case, even modern MMO's with large teams like WOW have there bugs and glitches.

I think the game fits 3 or maybe 4 types of players as follows:

The PVPers
The hoarders
The zombie killers
The explorers

I fit in the last 3.

When I first tried the game over a year ago I found it very frustrating because I hate PVP and never seemed to be able to evolve in the game without being chainkilled by squatters. I came back a few weeks ago and found that the problem has mostly been avoided by grouping with the people you play with, that way you can't kill them or be killed by them. Running around in numbers increases your survival chances.

I love the fact that you can buy safes to store your stash in game outside of a safe zone, I only wish they were slightly bigger (sigh I have three already and I am looking at getting a 4th).
