Desktop Dungeons
Still Love This Game
I still love this game, even though I seldom play it these days. A friend of mine recently asked me for a recommendation of a fun game to play, I told him Desktop Dungeons. He bought it. Now I have a game I love, AND feel good about helping support the company further.

I recall one of the devs once said that the Codex took too much effort to implement. I've gotta say that it's extra details like that, all of those small touches, all of that amazing balance, detail, and care, that make this game so much more than a simple RPG-puzzler. It was my game of the year for 2013, and I have to encounter another title that so perfectly blends the familiarity of a genre with the utter originality of re-inventing what it entails.

I also seem to recall that the developers were operating with no money for the last three months prior to release. Don't get me wrong, a developer's circumstances shouldn't matter when judging a game's quality. However, considering the polish acheived, it's no small feat what they were able to accomplish.

Your alpha was good, your beta was unique, and your finished product went beyond my expectations.

If I have one complaint, it's that there is no "exit" button on the main menu. However, this can be forgiven. Afterall, who'd really want to leave?

Thanks :)

P.S. Menu -> Exit Game, totally exists.
It's the second time I've read someone post about the lack of an exit button.
Maybe it just isn't as obvious as it seems. XD
Hehe, I know there is an exit button. I just thought it was a little odd that off the main screen, you can't exit without clicking "play" or logging into an account. This isn't a problem for me, but I thought it might be a potential issue for newcomers (whom I would of course, offer assistance).

You are totally welcome, dislekcia. Glad to see you still read these posts. :)

Still love this game to pieces. Still looking for every opportunity I have to recommend it to everyone I know. Still talking way too much about it. Still bordering on fanaticism about it.

I just wish I had more time to play it and make videos these days...
Yep. So many hours. So few regrets.
I just beat the tower (only on hard but I consider the main game beaten, like the developer note says). I was basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ against Horatio, needed 4 more hits to beat him and I had no piety, no potions and a sliver of health. I clicked the attack pretty sure it would mean death....but wait, a dodge......then another......then a third!!!!!!! I was rogue so I got first strike and beat him on the fourth attack! I was pumped! Triple dodge what are the odds....1/75? (I had 20%)
Congrats! That is truly a victory against all odds. Nice work.
Triple dodge at 20% = 20% ^ 3 = 0.8%
Or in fraction form 1/5 ^ 3 = 1/125
I love this game too. It's my most played Steam game, which is pretty shocking considering all the 'pre-planned' purchases I've made, where as I got this blind on release date. It's just so content rich and deep, every time I come back to it I learn new stuff. The goofy dialogue and exceptional music don't hurt either.
Yea I also absolutely love this game! It's the game I've clocked the most hours in here on Steam (though Steam says Hero Academy has far more, but that's not true, as most of that time is idling time, waiting for an opponent). So yea, guess there also more hours coming, still no rainbow borders achieved (through PQI). :D
