If you want to breed aliens, I do not recommend this game. If you want a moderately fun game where you slaughter aliens, I do recommend this game.

I played through the whole trilogy on GOG already so this is a review of all 3 games, the 2nd and 3rd game are basically just more missions and a few new weapons so no real reason to review them separately.
These games are super underrated and I can't believe I didn't play them sooner. I got the trilogy for free on GOG but had to buy them on Steam too because they're absolutely worth the price. Graphics and overall production values are extremely good for a 2010 game of this type and surprisingly so for a reboot of a classic '90s series... this is *way* above average for a retro-reboot!
Gameplay is fun, shooting feels satisfying and all the weapons feel different and useful. It's paced like a survival horror shooter (Dead Space seems to be a MAJOR influence) so don't expect constant action, there are many moments of tense exploration and searching for ammo between the alien wave attacks.
I haven't tried co-op but the single player campaign is well balanced and doesn't outstay its welcome. Difficulty isn't very high, even on the harder difficulty I wasn't struggling with ammo or health although I did die a few times when a swarm took me by surprise. Each game in the trilogy took about 5 hours to complete, ~15 hours total.
