The game is working now, but after some time I loose the HUD (it seems to happen after several times when I press the map button), and it comes back again ... after a while the game is crashing.

As for the crashing, try saving more frequently. Frequent saving fixes a lot of issues on various games. I get crashes on this game when I don't save often enough.

I also keep my own backup saves...

Yep. I've already put in over 100 hours since it came to Steam and haven't had a single crash. Others haven't been as lucky, but it seems like the majority of us aren't noticing any major bugs....

With grass and PhysX turned off, I can play for hours before the memory leak kicks in. Usually you will get warning signs; you'll start to see a noticeable slowdown before the crash.
